Marabou Emerger/Pupa

tied by siestafred
Fly Type: Attractor Pattern,
Target Species: Trout,
Recommended Region: Eastern Canada,
Imitation: Caddis Flies,
Material List:
Hook: Scud, 12-20. This is a #14.
Thread: 8/0
Bead: Copper 3/32
Body: 6-10 strands of marabou, clipped from the stem and twisted together lightly to form a rope. Then wrap up the body to the 2/3 point.
Thorax: Ice Dub or BPS Diamond Dub.
Hackle: 2-3 turns of a partridge feather stripped on one side and tied in by the tip.
Rib: Copper wire. I added a couple of turns on the bend to weight the back end down a bit.
Collar: Peacock herl.
Tying Instructions: Be careful to work the wire around the barbules so as to not trap too many. You want the body to look as buggy as possible.
Choose all material colors to suit local hatches.
