Hook: saber #8 2x long
Thread: black uni #6
Tail: red squirrel tail split
Underbody: brown flex floss
Hackle: Hoffman furnace
Shellback: brown body flex

Tying Instructions: Tye in tail and split.
Tye in shellback , flex floss, and hackle.
You can use dark dubbing or peacock for an underbody
The original version uses lacquered turkey as a shell back.
Wrap body then the hackle.
Trim the top of the hackle off then pull the shell back over.

Presentation Tips: This is a local must go to fly for the trout water of the eleven point river in southern Missouri. Get it down, dead drift and let it swing then give it a couple of strips.
