Tying Instructions: I use chain eyes only, mostly for appearance since they don't add much weight. I like this to slowly sink, not drop like a rock with lead eyes. Can be varied by changing colors of tail, body, and hackle. Will leave all colors the same, but change hackle to black usually. But have experimented with plenty of other color combos.
Presentation Tips: Usually use this on a slow sinktip, or a dryline in shallow water. This is an excellent fly for all salmon, and even steelhead. I was introduced to this fly back when I first started flyfishing by an older gentlemen I used to always see fishing. We were fishing for chums, and he told me I needed to use this fly. Gave me a few, and was just what I needed. Not sure if it was the confidence boost, or the fly. But has been my go to for chum, and has beached quite alot of other types of salmon too.
