SECRET INGREDIENT (Shhhhh Don't Tell Anyone)

A Lot of weight - either lead or lead subtitute wrapped around the shank
*Materials with links give you direct access to that product at the J. Stockard store.
Tying Instructions: I wont bore you with the tying steps since they are so simple just tie the hair to the shank to create the taper and general shape of a baitfish - top bottom and sides.

The lower fly I pulled some of the hair aside to show you the secret. We all know that heavy flies suck to cast - but there is a wonderful corner when it comes to big wind resistant flies. Weight will help you cast them if it balances don't the kite-like properties. Try it you'll like it.

"But Sean Juan how will I know when I have it right and how can I stop my sister from pining over your Latino-Irish Studtasticness?"

Well if you take the fly and throw it like a dart and it flies true you have it. If it flutters and
flaps you have too little. As for your sister well she is a woman and Sean Juan he is a man...

As for the name of the fly, when I first presented
the prototypes to my fishing buddy he said "Damn thats Big," and being the mature person I am I looked at my fly and agreed - the name stuck.
Presentation Tips: The Saltwater anglers on the board will know what to do with it. One point about the Circle hook, it works great in a fast rip where you cast and dead drift. In such situations the hardest part is feeling the strike on a slack line - with the circle hook you don't strike - well a little to drive it home - so it works awesome.

For you Freshwater trout fisherman, just cast it out and fight it in - hell its bigger than most brook trout so you may even want to put it on your
wall.
