milt egg fly

tied by Steelheader69
Fly Type: Egg/Sac,
Target Species: Steelhead,
Recommended Region: Northwest US,
Material List:
Hook:octopus or egg hook
Tail:white marabou as long as the body
Body:orange chenille wound up into an egg
Collar:white saddle hackle
Thread: white 6/0
Tying Instructions: There may be other flies like this, but this is an old fly I've been using for about 20 years or so. I made it mostly for dollies that came up eating eggs from spawning salmon, and also for the occasional steelhead that would hit a free drifting egg.
Presentation Tips: Usually free drifting it on a dry line. Depending on how deep the slot is, will slightly weight the pattern with lead underneath. But want it to gently float with the current
