Tying Instructions: Lay a sparse base of thread and build a small bump of thread over the barb of the hook. Tie in the tail, the bump will help splay the tail and keep the fly upright. You can also use hackle barbs for a tail. Tie in the calf tail facing forward over the eye and make a smooth underbody for the quill. Tie in the quill by the tip, trim the quill to the point where it is the same thickness as the hook wire and the tie in point and gets bigger from there. Tie the wings upright and use a figure 8 to divide the wings. Place a drop of Sally Hansen on the underbody and wrap the quill up to the wings. Ties off. Tie in a high quality cream, white or silver badger hackle and make 4 to 7 wraps of hackle.
