Fly Type: Wet,
Material List: Hook: Grip #14723BL # 12
Thread: Yellow Pearsall's Gossamer
Hackle: Gray Hen
Abdomen: Yellow silk Thread Size A, or buttonhole twist wound on the shank with no under-thread.
Thorax: Red, Yellow seal mixed with tan Hare's Mask, guard hair removed, dubbed Leisenring style.


Tying Instructions: Tie on the hackle by the stem so the tip points out, over the eye. Trim the excess stem. Wrap the tying thread about half way down the shank Tie on the abdomen silk, leaving the tying thread there. Wrap the silk down the shank and back over itself toward the tying thread. Tie off the abdomen thread and trim excess. Tie on the dubbing brush & wrap the dubbing brush down toward the eye. Tie off and trim excess. Wrap the hackle-2 turns- tie off and trim excess. While holding the hackles swept back with the non-tying hands thumb and forefinger, slightly overwrap the hackle fibers to hold them in position. Form the head, whip finish, and add cement.
Presentation Tips: Use as a standard wet fly; with the Leisenring lift, on the swing or upstream or down in the film or just below.
