CDC & Biot Emerger

tied by dwiltshire
Fly Type: Dry,
Target Species: Trout,
Recommended Region: General Europe,
Imitation: Mayflies,
Material List:
Hook: Partridge 15BN #18 - 14
Thread: Sheer 14/0 tan
Abdomen: Turkey biot
Thorax: Hare, dyed olive
Wing: Natural CDC

Tying Instructions: For extra security, wind the biot on a layer of cement. The thorax is left a little straggly.

I like to measure the wing so that when it is pulled over the eye it does not need trimming. I don't really like a 'chopped off' appearance.

When the loop is tied in, pull the loose tips back and whip-finishe underneat, behind the eye.
Presentation Tips: Upstream and dead-drift. If it becomes saturated, keep it on the cast and fish it subsurface, watching the leader for movement from a take.
