Fly Type: Attractor Pattern,
Target Species: Trout,
Recommended Region: Southeast US,
Material List: hook: egg hook, nymph hook, scud hook (size 12-14)
thread: white or color to match body
bead: gold
body: two pieces of brightly colored egg yarn. (yellow/orange, yelow/pink, etc. etc. etc.)
Tying Instructions: 1.put bead on hook and then put in vice
2.start thread and wrap all of hook shank then add head cement
3.add lead or creat a thread dam to keep bead from sliding
4.tie in a piece of egg yarn about 1-1 1/2 inches long on far side of hook shank. use tight wraps to 5.tie in another colored piece of egg yarn on near side of hook shank using the same process.
5.Make tight wraps around the base of the yarn on both sides to prevent the fly from twisting and sliding
6.whip finish and head cement
7. clip egg yarn. for back: clip even with the hook shank for the front: clip at an angle short aboout the back of the bead (it should look conical shaped)
Presentation Tips: This fly is a general attractor that works very well. It's more or less and egg and works especially well when the water is high fast and stained. It's also taken it's fair shair of stocked trout as well.
