Royal Black Bear (Wet)

tied by siestafred
Fly Type: Attractor Pattern,
Target Species: Trout,
Material List:
Hook: #10 Mustad 79580 or similar
Thread: 6/0 Black
Weight: .015 Lead Wire (optional)
Tail: Golden Pheasant Tippet
Abdomen: Wraps of Peacock Herl back and front, centered by Red Floss
Wing: Black Bear
Hackle: Black
Tying Instructions: The Trude version uses Chartreuse Floss and ribbing of Silver Wire.
I like a few wraps of lead added so the fly fishes just under the surface and can readily be used in faster water.
Presentation Tips: Drift and swing. Add some short, irregular strip action at times.
