Fly Type: Salmon Flies,
Target Species: Steelhead,
Recommended Region: Northeast US,
Material List:
pink (or red) thread, pink chenille, pearl krystal flash
Tying Instructions: 1. Dress hook and tie on chenille.
2. wrap chenille up to eye.
3. Place krystal flash around the eye. (360 degrees around eye)
4. Tie off and cut.
5. Now take your thread up a few millimeters and wrap around chenille and krystal flash.
(Note: This flares the krystal flash and gives a nub look to the head of the fly.)
6. Tie off and cut.
7. Add Head cement or epoxy (very little needed)
Presentation Tips: Drift past pods of steelies and salmon in deep runs or pools.
(Sometimes added weight helps. But natural flow is best)
