Imitation: General Baitfish,
Material List: Hook: Mustad 9672 #4-6
Weight: lead wire and cone head
Thread: Black 6/0

Underwing: Two matching red saddle Hackles

Wing: Two matching Hackles, color of choice. Original Color is White-over-red Hackles. My favorites include Original, Grisly 'n' Bloody Deciever (Grizzly Hackle for wing, and grizzly fluff for head), and Bloody Flank Deciever (Mallard Flank for Wing).

Head: Hackle base fluff

Tying Instructions: (1) Slip cone head on and then put hook in vice.

(2) throw some lead wire on at the front of the fly and press it against the conehead

(3)Run on thread

(4) Tie in under wing at about the middle of the shank.

(5) Tie in wing just infront of the underwing. Wing has to be slightly shorter than under-wing

(6) Take a hackle of same type as the wing and strip it off all but the base fluff and the webbiest part of the hackle

(7) Tie in the hackle (in step 6) by the basejust infront of the wing.

(8) Wrap hackle semi-thickly up to the conehead or just before.

(9) Tie off hackle and whip-finish.

The End
Presentation Tips: Vary your retreives. When fishing a deep lake, use a sink tip line and range from short, fast strips to long, slow strips. Do what works.
