Wrap the hook with the braid then run the ostrich herl between the wraps of the braid. This will help protect the herl from breaking. This is tied on a size 8 2XL hook. For a smaller version, you can use a micro pearl braid to get a slimmer/smaller body, and different color braid and herl. You can mix up the colors to cover several different caddis.
