Bunny Bugger

tied by navigator36
Fly Type: Attractor Pattern,
Target Species: Freshwater Bass,
Recommended Region: Central Canada,
Material List*:
Hook- size 6-10 nymph or streamer hook
Thread- size 3/0 black unithread
Tail- grey 1/8 inch rabbit strip
Body- same grey rabbit strip
Hackle- one grizzly hackle

Note: I prefer this fly in a drab grey or brown tone
with no flash added.
It seems to work well enough with a very ugly, buggy
appearance it has.

Tying Instructions: Tie on rabbit strip tail.
Tie on second rabbit stripalong with the grizzly hackle.
Wind rabbit strip around hook to eye and tie off.
Trim rabbit strip body by half, then wind hackle tight
to eye and tie off.
Finish wrapping eye and cement.
Then take a needle and carefully pick out the bunny body
in different areas between the hackle wraps.
This gives the fly more body as opposed to being matted down by the hackle.
You're done.
Presentation Tips: This fly works well for smallmouths, probably large mouths and larger trout.
Fish it imitating a leech or crayfish along the bottom
and around cover.
