Fly Type: Attractor Pattern,
Target Species: Trout,
Material List: Hook: #12-8 Nymph This is a #8.
Thread: 6/0 Black
Weight: .020 Lead Optional
Bead: 3/32 Black (or Gold) Tungsten
Tail: Red Fox Squirrel Guard Hair with 1 or 2 strands of Pearl Flashabou each side.
Body: RF Squirrel underfur with some guard hair mixed in. I also added a bit of chopped Olive Antron.
Rib: Pearl Flashabou
Hackle: Partridge
Collar: Peacock Herl
Tying Instructions: This fly (a Flymph, really) comes in several variations. It originally was made from Australian possum, hence the name. It's also done in CDC, and I've seen it made from Seal.
It's a most effective fly for me fished like a streamer.
