Bill's Extended Hellgramite

tied by Pujic
Fly Type: Nymphs,
Target Species: Freshwater Bass,
Recommended Region: Eastern Canada,
Imitation: Worms,
Material List*:
Hook: Mustad: Streamer, size 4

Thread: Black UNI 6/0

Underbody: Heavy lead, or lead substitute wire. You want this fly to get to the bottom and stay there.

Body & Tail: Bill's marabou chenille, light brown. The tail is just a loop formed by the chenille with both ends tied in at the tail and then palmered forward to create the body.

Wingcase & Antenna: Bill's stretch foam, black.

Rib: Black Wapsi Ultra Wire.

Tying Instructions:
Presentation Tips: Although it looks like a mess this fly has unbelievable action underwater and is a great hellgramnite (dobsonfly) immitator. because it's heavily weighted it sinks down low where these huge nasty insects are usually found and has a tendancy to fool fair sized smallies.

A smaller version can also be tied (see my other DB submissions).
