Angel Fly

Fly Type: Attractor Pattern,
Target Species: Pike,
Recommended Region: Central Canada,
Imitation: General Baitfish,
Material List: Size 3/0 streamer hook
Red big fly thread
Silver Firefly Tye for tail
Large silver mylar chenille for body
Gold wire ribbing
Silver and red angel hair for wing
Stick on eyes to finish
Tying Instructions: After cementing base thread, tie on the silver
Firefly Tye tail.
Tie on gold wire and then tie on silver chenille.
Wrap chenille to head and tie off.
Wrap gold wire on chenille to head and tie off.
Tie on a section of silver angel hair first and then a
section of red angel hair on top.
Trim at eye and tie off with strong wraps of thread.
Stick on eyes and fasten with thin mono thread
to hold them.
Varnish head twice and you're done.
( Angel Hair is such a fine flash fiber that it gets
everywhere and can be awkward to work with.
However, it's flash in the water is excellent.)
Presentation Tips: Use this one where extra flash is needed to get the attention of a prowling pike. Great on early mornings when the sun is just up.
