Current Tags for This Pattern / CDC / Pheasant / stoneclinger / Simple Stoneclinger![]() tied by trevally Fly Type: Nymphs, Target Species: Trout, Recommended Region: Other, Imitation: Mayflies, Material List: Hook- standard nymph hook Tails- Virtual Nymph Synthetic Quills Abdomen- Fly Tyers Dungeon Latex Gills- CDC feather Wing Plate- Virtual Nymph Stoneclinger Wing Plates Legs- Golden Pheasant Tail Thorax- Thread (coated with multiple coats of Hard as Nails) Head- Thread Tying Instructions: Wrap some fine lead toward the front of the hook. Secure VN Synthetic Quills on either side of the hook for tails. Secure a strip of Fly Tyers Dungeon Latex at the rear of the hook. Secure a CDC feather (gold) at the rear of the hook. Wrap the latex 2/3rd of the way forward and tie off at this point on the shank. Mark abdomen to your liking. Palmer the CDC feather forward in the segments created by the latex. Pluck the CDC from the top and bottom and trim to shape along the sides. Secure the stoneclinger plate (after marking of course) utilizing the tab. Pluck the 6 legs from the golden pheasant center tail and secure them one at a time. Secure the tips or proximal end of each barb. Coat the thorax with Hard as Hull or similar. Fold the stoneclinger plate back and super glue in place. Build a small thread head and whip finish. Coat the top of the stoneclinger plate with Hard as Hull or similar. Remark if need be.
