Grass Carp Candy

tied by Firetiger
Fly Type: General Freshwater,
Recommended Region: General Europe,
Imitation: ,
Material List:
TMC 2499 SPBL hook, size 8 (or was it 6?)
One feather each of green and yellow marabou
UNI Tan 6/0 thread
Tying Instructions: Tie in the thread, prepare a dubbing loop
Capture the 2 Marabou feathers in your favorite CDC tool, spin in the dubbing loop
wind the rope, whip finish and voila!
Presentation Tips: I had success casting this fly to grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) last summer. The critter is active at higher temperatures than trout - by this I mean it provides sport in otherwise dead period of high summer heats - and it puts up a fight.
Also important is the fact that over here it is much easier to find 3+ pound grass carp than trout
