  1. Very nice and love the choice of colors with the blank. But I would find an eight footer hard to fit in my truck or little car. Is there any particular application for that type rod, besides catching fish? As trout, etc.?
  2. Computer error, obviously. I had a business card that I have looked for over a week.
  3. Good starting point, chugbug27. FrankieD, welcome to the forum! You realize you have committed to photos of the fish you catch with flies that you tied.😉
  4. Went back to review it. It needs a quick release somewhere to prevent a choking hazard if it gets stuck on a tree limb or such. My Dr. Slick has one, held together by friction.
  5. Nice. Like the color contrast with the green blank and blue thread.
  6. Welcome! Used to live in a suburb of Detroit...Ohio.😉
  7. Around here it's, "The Lord giveth, the Lord taketh away." Weather here is such that it can be freezing for one or two days then up into the 50s or even the 60s. My experience with snow was before snow blowers. Friend in NH several years was using his two or three times a week!
  8. Reminds me of the time I was in the Odessa area. My sales call was in an industrial park. It came out that the guys would fish during lunch in a small pond behind the plant. Record was an 8 lb. LM bass.
  9. Never flew with fishing gear, only on business. However, one guy was at an airport, carrying a rod case. A security guard hollered, "Weapon,!" and tackled the guy. The genius security guard thought he was carrying a rocket launcher. Ah, meshuggah.
  10. Used to sell Betts and Peck's poppers. Went like hotcakes. There was a time when gas was 17 cents a gallon and you could buy a new Ford convertible for $2800.
  11. Recently I talked with the owners of a fly shop about the zipper. Their consensus is they will eventually leak.
  12. Nice. I never put legs on poppers or cut them off the bought ones. Got tired of little fish grabbing the legs and pulling the popper under.

    Poor Mikey

Wrap the all-thread with Teflon tape or you will learn new words for your vocabulary.

    Poor Mikey

A friend was at the Miami International airport and saw it snowing. The flakes melted when they got about 4 feet above the ground.
  15. Snow or cold never bothered me. Born and raised in Ohio. Working on my eighth decade on Earth.
  16. You must be rough on shoes. I have shoes that I wear on a regular basis. One pair of New Balance sneakers is about 6 years old. Wore them today and the wife commented that they still look good. Wife and I have Hodgman waders. Hers leaked but got it patched with Aquaseal. Going to try mine Monday.
  17. Interesting. What waders are made in the USA and made in China?
  18. Welcome. I lived in Shreveport, LA. Knew a family whose vacation was floating the White River each summer. Ever fish northern AR? Big fish!
  19. Love summer, wading wet and don't have to get out of the water for a leak.
  20. DF, I used to make sales calls on hospitals. I was amazed at the number of doctors, nurses, staff who smoked. Outside in the winter, too! Duh!
  21. Dad said it was Colorado Springs, USAAF.
