  1. I was looking at Randy Taylor's Mayfly Nymph but there are no materials listed for the pattern. Anyone or Randy; can you give me the receipe? Appreciate it. Jim the deserttrout
  2. Count me in with either a Truckee River Special or a Soft Hackle or a Mayfly. Decisions, decisions... so many decisions. DT
  3. I now put the really well tied ones in shadow boxes. I got the idea from Chappy during the last Chili Pepper Swap. I went to Michelles and bought six Oak Shadow boxes for under $50, some two sided velcro and tah dah!!!! I glue one side of the velcro to the back of the frame ( after I cut it into small pieces - just big enough for the flys I will be attaching. Michelle's, Ben Franklin's or any other Craft Store will have all the material needed. Look around at the clearance tables for what you need. Jim the deserttrout
  4. NOW I read the dates Such a dummy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dunno: Jim the deserttrout
  5. I would like that address also. I am a subscriber and did not get a copy. :crying: I think that that is a rip off for those of us that have supported their magazine for a number of years. Don't know how I will address this with them; nicely or as an upset supporter that feels like they have been discriminated against. Jim the desertrout
  6. NICE! NICE! NICE! :headbang: Looks deadly. I will have to try this for a Mayfly Swap I am in. Thanks for the great idea and recipe. :yahoo: desertrout
  7. Very nice fly but I can not tell how it was tied. What is the body material. Gold wire for the ribbibg and Guinne Hackle at the front. Would you elaborate a bit more on what the materials are, how they are tied, how many wraps of hackle and so on. It would be helpful to those of us that are beginners. deserttrout out

  10. Mark A swarm of Zulu's are flying your way. My herl was just to old and brittle to use so I had to substitute. The result turned out nice. Hope they will suffice as I don't have the tying experience that many of the others do. :dunno: deserttrout/Jim Phillips
  11. Some Patriotic Streamers/Buggers are flying your way. :hyst: After completing them, I think they might be a good Steelhead fly. Lot's of sparkle :yahoo: Had to change my design as I could not find my Blue Hackle so I used Blue Maribou for the top wing and that's why I added "streamer" to the name. I hope everyone like my submission. Recipe will be enclosedwith the flys Deserttrout Jim Phillips
