I am looking for a good guiding company in Puerto Vallarta. I am heading down this winter. Can anyone suggest a good guide down there? Thanks

I used to like Sportfishing on the Fly, but I can't find it on the TV anymore. -

I would have to say bar none the Bow River. I may be partial since I live in Calgary, but there is no other river that i have fished that offers as much of a challenge with huge fush for a pay off. It flows throught eh Rocky Mountains offering a breath taking view...did I mention the fish....yup this has to be the best river ever.

What kind of music do you tie to? I always crank the metal. Some Godsmack, Pantera or the great Metallica. When I am feeling saucy I crank the Barney Song to jet my creative juices really flowing jj.

What do you do when you tie a perfect fly?
flyfishingheaven replied to JasonN's topic in The Fly Tying Bench
I have started my own shadow box. You know it will be worth millions someday (LOL). I like to keep a perfect tie from each pattern. This way when nothing seems to be going right I can look at the shadow box and remind myself that I ain't so bad. -

The fly-tying Bible by Peter Gathercole has a wealth of information for begginner flies. It offers a step by step for all of the patterns included in the book. Check it out.

Yes it does float. I love to fish this pattern. I think it is really cool that you have the original. Would you send a picture of it to me. I would love to see it.

Cutting my fingers. I had a terrible habit of getting the hand with no scissors in the way. Thsi seemed to always happen when I was working with deer or elk hair. I would grab the bunch and ship away, taking a little bit of my fingers with it. I got over it by my wifes continuous laughter. It gets pretty embasrassing after a while.

I caught my first fish (a Cut throat) on a size 18 PMD. It was not the biggest fish, but it got me hooked on the sport more that ever.
