  1. Hey bentflyrod, It was tied on a Mustad 9671 size 12. The picture can play tricks on you. Do you want to play some 3 card monty? Thanks for the come back on my fly. I havent been tying a year yet and was alittle iffy about putting anything up for everybody to see. But I fealt pretty good about this one. Tight Lines!!
  2. OK guys this is what your are getting from me. White body and tail. Tail has a splash of pink flash. Now the hackle is a new material by Bill Skilton, it is called Bills Flashy Baitfish Yarn. If you want more info on the stuff pm and I will try and help. Now this stuff is really cool. When you get this fly play with it in your fish tank. The movement is great. Hope you like it. Where are they? HELP. Its taking me longer to get these pictures for you than it did to make 20 of these!!! If they dont come up they are posted in the bugger challenge thing. Which by the way is a way cool idea
  3. Here is two that I did for the 2 swaps that I am in. The first one is for the GLSteelhead Swap. The next two for the bugger swap. New material for the hackle, like it?
  4. A new addition to the fly pattern database has been submitted by sore arm: <a href="http://flytyingforum.com/index.php?act=flyshow&showid=960">Hot Tellico</a> <img src="uploads/img41f73f85b23a1.jpg"> this shows the color much better
  5. All done. I think people will be pleased on this one. I am going to try and get some pictures. I got two posibilities. The neighbor and the younger brother. Hopefully one can come through.
  6. Well While driving out to the fly shop I decided exactly what bugger I am going to do. Not the one I posted. In swaps I always do "proven" patterns. But not this time. Last week at a show I picked up this new material, to me at least, that I thought would be cool to use for hackle. So once you guys get mine PLEASE give me your thoughts on it. This bugger has to catch fish though. Got to get at it. BYE
  7. 20 plus the host correct? I got to go to the store. I got to make up my mind on what color pattern I want to do. It will be flashy though. Probably. I dont know. Yeah it will be flashy. I did afew mocks last night and the wife picked one out that she liked so blame her if you dont like it LOL. blk bead head wht body dun tail with flash blue hackle flash Fresh steelies really enjoy this pattern!!! Well if your not happy I am sure that you will get 19 other very tastey creations out of this swap. Looking forward to this one. I got to get hot.
  8. I am in. Already doing a bugger for the Great Lakes swap. I'll change the colors and throw on a beadhead. Three more to do for the other swap than I'll get these done. Probably be able to get most done tomorrow considering there is only one playoff game on. I wouldnt mind seeing the Eagles win. Its not that I dont like Atlanta I just got a thing with the south dont know why. Please tell me why they are televising live Patriots practices now. Are they going to show all of them before the Super Bowl or just this one against the Steelers?
  9. Nice to have you. The wife and I went to Alaske for our honeymoon 4yrs ago and words cant describe that place. Just B-U-TIF-ULL We fished for kings on the Kenei and hailbut off of Kodiac Island. Those halibut are work!! But well worth the sore muscles when you eat them.
  10. Thanks for the input Bobby and smalliehunter "hope I remembered right, if not sorry"
  11. Nice. I have used that pattern I just called it a orange/white bugger. One day on the Elk I tied on a white bugger size 12 and started poppin fish. Gave my last white bugger to the guy next to me and he started also. My buddy down stream from me asked me for what I was using and I said I didnt have any more but try this one. That one being the org/wht and he outfished us. Nice addition!!
  12. What box isnt complete without a flashy bugger? I am in
  13. Hello fellow steelhead fisher. Welcome to the site.Over here in OH the Grand hasnt fished in months. The Chagrin about the same. I hit 2 of your tribs, Elk and Walnut. You can have Walnut but the Elk is nice. I want to start learning some of the mile tribs. Which ones do you recomend?
  14. This may be a basic question but being new to this I dont know. I have heard on a few occasions that a stonefly hatch happened today. I fish for steelies in the Erie tribs. How does the angler know that a hatch is occuring? What do I nead to do to see if a hatch is going on or not? When the hatch is going on should I match it or use an attracting stonefly pattern? Thanks

    Hello

Hey buddy!!!! What time are you going to hit the expo, the crack of 10:30?
  16. I just got back from post office so they are in the mail! I call my pattern spearmint sucker meth, a combination of sucker spawn and crtsyal meth. I came up with the pattern on my own but later found out that Todd Kaday of PA already created it and named it creme-de-meth. The fly is tied the same as Crystal Meth except when tying in the "body" a strand of yarn is placed on each side of the sparkle braid. Enjoy!!!
  17. I was wonderimg if anybody could give me the recepie or direct me too it. I googled it but couldnt find. Thanks in advance.
  18. Nice work. I am going to use that on my steelies over here in Ohio!!
  19. I mainly use McFly Foam. I like how the teeth of the fish get hung up with the foam. I think it is easier to cut and tie down also. But you cant beat Glo Bugs oregon cheese. The yarn I think works better for the sperm in the nuke egg. Hey egg guys. We have an egg swap going on with openings still avaiable. Lets fill these up! Tie 12 any type egg pattern and get 12 back. You may get that egg pattern or color combo that nobady really fishes on your waters and tear them up. Go to the swap page for more details and sign up.
  20. Geozip No not that much. Just a few turns. Basicly what happens is I am creating a dam for the glue to rest on.
  21. This is what I do. For say a size 12 nymph I will use a 1/8 bead and slip it on the hook and move it behind the eye. Attach thread and put afew wraps behind the bead and put a drop of glue there. Slide the bead back through the glue drop and slide it into place behind the eye. Put alittle more glue than do my pattern. Is this correct? I dont know. Thats what I do.
  22. 1. flashlight 2. hand lotion 3. scented candle
  23. Nice to have you Brewer. This is a great site with great guys. We are presently trying to do an egg swap. There is no better way to get started on the site than to get active. You said you just started up again and you are fishing for steelies so.... How about a dozen flies from other members? Spring is around the corner. If you cant do it thats OK. Anyway........... Enjoy the site!!!!!!!!!!!!!
