Thanks Karsten Here are my belated O.B. Nymphs. One thing I must say, these didn't turn out quite as well as I would have wanted I don't think I quite captured the "juicy look," the original tyer did with his fly. Oh well, I think it will still work ~ -
Awesome Will! That is really something. Sweet new feature
-
Congrats

I also use Hodgeman Neoprones. I really like them, but they're all I've used.
-
I haven't ever used the vise. Although I know someone who has. Hopefully he'll weigh in on this one. However from what I've heard, there is no debate, the Renzetti is better.

Really cool fly, Paul
-
Oooooh yeah nice smallies I'm considering getting a pack of those skulls. They look neat

What is the advantage of furled leaders? Can some pro clue me in.

Tom, Scientific Anglers puts out a pretty good (and inexpensive) dry fly floatant. I use it alot and really like it.
-
I am loving this!!! Great pictures and vises everyone!
-
Kind of hard to really see the fly due to it being slicked back, but it looks alright. Should catch some panfish

Danvise Vs Griffin's Odyssey Spider?
smallieFanatic replied to RoaringForkFisher's topic in The Fly Tying Bench
True rotary so I have heard keeps the hook shank on a perfect axis (without a wobble) and so material can be wound on with precision. With the head leveled the Anvil Apex keeps the hook shank, while not on an axis, level (without a wobble) and is the equivalent of true rotary. Materials can be wound on with as much even precision as your Mongoose. -
Awesome man. Keep it up

Very interesting, excellent post.

Danvise Vs Griffin's Odyssey Spider?
smallieFanatic replied to RoaringForkFisher's topic in The Fly Tying Bench
It has an adjustable head tilt, so yes it does have true rotary. All you have to do is level the head It has a slightly larger hook range than the Griffin (#32--#6/0 vrs. #28--#4/0) and also it comes with both C-Clamp and pedestal, while the Spider does not to the best of my knowledge. Also the Apex is made of a solid Stainless Steel construction (vrs. Delrin like the Danica vise). IMHO it is as good as any in it's price range Whether it is better or worse for you personally is your decision Here is a review for the Danvise and the Apex: Anvil Apex Review Danvise review -
I don't think you understand that there are more than one type of opinions/beliefs. There is the kind that can't be disproved and shouldn't be attempted (eg, "I think mountains are pretty") and the other, the kind that can be wrong and should be disproved if it is misleading or the like (eg, "Hen hackle will work just as good as rooster on a royal wulff"). On your second paragraph you pursue a whole different subject. I am not suggesting persecution for someone having diverse beliefs, as long as it isn't harmful to the people around you. I am merely stating that some opinions are wrong and should be set strait. You are suggesting that because someone believes something it can never be wrong, and it should never be challenged. Boy am I glad Galileo and other notable dissenters didn't look at it that way. I'm done. I made my point clear and I believe I will also walk away from the keyboard. I need it

Danvise Vs Griffin's Odyssey Spider?

I suggest looking into the Anvil apex, similar in cost. I REALLY like mine. -
You can't tell me it isn't when I think it is. Opinions are never wrong because in my opinion they can't be. "It ain't so because I don't think it is," will never be a rational argument. But I guess there is no use continuing when it comes to that.

That sounds like a capital idea. We'll wait until just after the weekend and then I'll organize all the bugs and send 'em.

Uhh....no, it isn't.
