alright folks......there was no post of mine removed by any moderators........ I removed my response because some of you folks are not worth the effort TOOL -- definition-- one that is used or manipulated by another so, if any of you fellers felt I was calling them a TOOL in a negative manner......that is on your guilty conscience.....not mine...... Red Osier Dogwood..........a few other tree dudes out there.....nice........damn my Dendrology class.........we had our final in a hailstorm with about 12 inches of snow on the ground.....and the prof was just pointing out trees.......it was awesome....if we didn't know it.......a few stragglers would stay behind and dig until we found some leaves.......great class one time, the prof had us all grab a persimmon fruit......some ripe.....some not.........everyone bit into the fruit at the same time......some were like, oh so juicy........and for the unlucky ones...which included me........all got instant cotton mouth............lesson learned we even bowled with some osage oranges........good times.........

I didn't say it "blows", you said your buddy did........all I was saying is that just because you can wade there now, does not mean that it "blows"

I don't think the wading has much to do with the stream being labled as it "blows"

I'd love to be ice fishing at the moment.........but, I have no ice So, post up those pics.......I'd love to see them.............. It was barely above single digits in PA last night.......and currently about 13 degrees..........so, if this keeps up, I might get to ice fish this season......normally, I can hit the hardwater a few days before Christmas......... bring on the cold !!!

Welp, breeches and all the others are streams for when you where going to Harrisburg...... I am a retired officer for the PA Fish and Boat Commission-- and my area was: E. Berks and N. Montgomery County...........(which is close to where you will be---I live about 40 from Hamburg) if you are lucky, you might get some ice fishing in !!!!! enjoy what you can while you are here !!! There are a few streams close to Hamburg worth visiting...... Wading is allowed on the little lehigh in the --Heritage Section-- which is now just a fly fishing only section Any questions, give me a shout.......check out my website...... Steak and Eggs....with a few midges thrown in......... Big streamers fished solo or with an egg pattern dropped off it............ and Shhh.......a pink worm.............been putting that to the test very hard the last few years........using pink worm flies..........and Berkley Pink Trout worms...........effective on stockies and wild brown trout.........

the okuma air frame or cascade reels are superb reels and only cost 30 dollars..........they are graphite with sealed drags.......not my daily users........but the 789 is my friends main reel for salmon fishing and that thing has held up nicely.........on one trip, I used the 30 dollar reel to land many 20-30 pound salmon without incident..........I'll take my Fly Logic anyday over any other reel.......but the Okuma graphite Air Frame reel is a nice reel, especially for 30 dollars.........Large Arbor too......

so, how did you make out?

it is the Whatever Makes You Happy scenario fishing on wild trout streams for 12 inch and less fish.......certainly won't need the coolest and newest drag system fishing where you have the potential to tag a 20 inch plus fish, say Penns Creek in Pennsylvania, yeah--you are going to want a nice drag system, although not a necessity, a good drag system is nice to have when a fish is screaming line off your reel..... I like my Fly Logic reels...... Okuma Air Stream or Cascade is a cheap reel that has a nice sealed drag system and will set you back like 30 bucks...... If the trigger finger is itchy......let it fly.........if you have the cash for it........it will make you happy..........always buy what you can afford...........and be proud of your choice no matter what the guy next to you is fishing with

Fly Logic for me I have been fishing Fly Logic since about 1999 or 2000..........I have tried many other reels, even the big named guys.....and I always seem to go back to Fly Logic..............I just wished they made an ultra-light reel to match a shorter stick......... I also like the LOOP CLW, CLWC reels--now they are called Xact......lightweight and neat looking The okuma cascade or air frame reel also gets a nod........... Normally, when I am chasing wild trout on smaller streams.......I love using a bamboo rod (my dad recently broke my 6 foot 2/3 wt) but I had it paired with a Vernley Trout Reel -- 1930's-1940's love this reel

Here is a simple pattern that will put some fish on the end of your line......there are various materials that can be used to make sucker spawn or crystal patterns........simple stuff I too agree Moe Egg (glue eggs) are awesome and make realistic egg patterns.......clear with red or orange thread tied down looks awesome.......once you dip it in cold water to cure or harden, it gets milky and the fish love milky.......... Craft balls are awesome too..........egg patterns are fun to tie and awesome to fish If you want a vid on tying a Moe Egg, let me know.........I'll do one up.......

Here is how it went down.........I asked for a 5 dollar stamp.......guy goes over to other counter to get stamp.......comes back and states--how do you know it'll be enough?? I go excuse me......he says it again.....I said enough for what, I'm not understanding?? He goes.........WTF and throws his hands up in the air...........I said, dude, what's your problem.....he said I don't need this shit.........what is your deal........he's like, how do you know it's enough postage........I go, uhhh, well I've done this many times before.......plus I was a postal clerk in the military........he says whatever man-staring at me like he wants to kill me.......and throws the package me.........I throw it back--onto the scale and said do your g-damned job.......he keeps staring.........and I keep saying........what's your problem..........are you that disgruntled..........he's like, I was just trying to save you money man.......I said no......you were trying to make me look stupid.........if you wanted to save me money, you wouldn't have said IS THAT ENOUGH.........he kept staring like a crazy rabid dog at me........it was funny....I never raised my voice and I think that made him even angrier........I'm just glad they made it there and didn't get tossed into the trash......... the postal clerk was seriously having a bad day and I guess I looked like a good dude to take it out on.................. then, to top it off.........an older lady starts giving US crap because her granddaughter is missing and could we please stop..........I was cool with that........but then, the guy in front of her starts yelling at her.....screaming at her--how she needs to shutup because he is in a hurry..........I told the guy to leave the lady alone.......... I waited outside for granny......I apologized to her and stated that the Clerk and the guy in front of her were both out of line............she was shaking horribly.......upset about her granddaughter....... My wife is like what are you doing.............I said waiting to apologize to granny............loudmouth dude in line........got in his car and zoomed out of the lot.......... It was without a doubt...........the craziest crap I have ever seen at a post office.............I lost my power the next day for 7 days.............so, I had other things to worry about and forgot about it all...........now the fight is with state farm.......folks who consider your house habitable: if you have no power, live lines on the ground right next to your house, no heat, no running water, no nothing----tree limbs are falling onto your house, the temps at night ranged from the teens to low 30's.......and you have a 6 and 5 year old in the house...........what a crock..........LIKE A GOOD NEIGHBOR my butt......they were of no help and did their best to belittle the wife and I with every phone call we made......the last straw was my insurance agent of 14 years.......talking to me like I was a criminal with my hand out...........Progressive hear I come...........starting Dec 04...........the only question I asked them, repeatedly was if there was some way State Farm could get us a reduced rate at a hotel or motel...............still have not gotten an answer..........but we stayed at a Bed and Breakfast one night....and they gave the wife crap, stating--why did you feel it necessary to stay at a hotel?? unreal................................................... Somehow I think we are missing part of the story
