About Me
Lt at Regional Jail. Flyfishing for 30 yrs...tying for 10...shirking responsibility so I can flip a fly since 1979.
I fish to get away from the ugliness in society; to enjoy the simple things like the soothing melody of red wing black birds and babbling riffles; the sun on my wife's face as she wades the next run; to recharge, to refresh; to purge my head of all the evils; to step out of the catacombs of prisons and jails; to dwell in the light of my family's love, and to laugh, and breathe air not filled with teargas and pepperspray; to be able to shed the filth of monsters in my world and to feel human, if just for a fleeting moment.
Tying and fishing bring me closer to me, and that's a wonderful thing. It brings me stability, peace, and a "centering" that allows my kids to really know thier Dad and yet, still love me, even if I'm not unlike my flies with my short tails, bent wings, and rusty barbs. Nothing is perfect, yet tying and fishing with my family brings my life as close to perfect as it could ever be.
Shhhhh! Hear that? That's a Kentucky bluebird...isn't she lovely?
Tight lines and heavy nets, ya'll. The water's callin'!
