  6. Right on, Horseshoes!! Good luck on that great river. If you've got time before you head out, whip up a few Carter's Bugs, you won't be sorry!

  9. Good call! Thanks for the update
  10. Well we're at five tiers right now, up to you guys how you want to go with this one. We can give it another week or whatever and see if anybody else joins, we can close it up now and go with the members we have, or we can close it and everyone ties two flies each, one bomber and one of your choice. What do you guys think?
  11. Here's one http://troutwaders.com/blog/?p=14 Never even heard of it before, but man that looks like a beut! I'm gonna tie a few up for a trip I'm goin on this weekend and see if the Salmon like it.
  12. I'd say your doin great! First bomber attempts in 3 years eh, riiiiiight lol. I've combined stacking with hair that doesn't spin well just to fill in a few voids....just remember these things aren't going in a showcase, and hair thats packed too tight decreases hook ups because the fish (Salmon anyway) have a tendency to spit it out before you get a chance to set. Great color combo by the way, White tailed green machines have been the bug of choice so far this year and have landed some huuuuuuge fish (30lb+) gots me a funny feelin that combo is gonna work out just fine! :smoke:
  13. Oh but i do! I got real smart mouthed on my first swap and figured i could pump out 12 of em no problem, needless to say my liver took a pounding and the flies i tied proved it! lol Good thing the good ole boys in the Eastern Swap were so forgiving! On a brighter note, it definitly improved my spinning skills and that beauty grilse i hauled in on a green and orange i tied after proved it! Cheers buddy, hang in there
  14. lol, frustratin little buggers arent' they! There's all kinds of time BDH, no rush, take your time
  15. Yellow and Black are great colors together, all about the hackle wrap for durablity, that deer hair is almost bullet proof!
  16. Never too late, my friend! Glad to have you. Looking forward to seeing how you West Coasters tye! Cheers and welcome aboard :gunsmilie:
  17. Sorry for post jacking fellas, i've been catchin up on all the action over here and gotta say that the comments and suggestions and everything in here is what makes me proud to be a fly tyer. Donating flies to charities is a fantastic idea and you all deserve to be congratulated. Cheers and best of luck with the "box"
  18. Pretty hard to find anything on Cape Breton! Give Bryant Freeman a call at Eskape Anglers here in Moncton/Riverview. I'm sure he'd be able to tell you what you have over the phone and would enjoy doing it, the guy's amazing. (506) 386-6269‎ http://www.salmonflies.com/eskape/
  19. Right on, BassBugn! That due date is completely flexible, take your time on deciding your pattern and send em when you can, great to have you on board!
  20. Welcome and thanks for joining, atroutbum2! Good to see some action here finally lol. As for the hook size, the ones i listed above work great but anything in a #4, 6, or even 8 with a long shank would work fine, it's totally up to you. Thanks again for joining, its going to be great to see what everyone comes up with!
  21. Very nice! Good to have you aboard BigDaddy! The due date isn't set in stone, so no worries about that. As for the hooks, don't worry about them being for Salmon or not, I use Mustad 9672 or 79580 #4 Streamer Hooks for all my Bombers, anything with a long shank will do. Cheers buddy, thanks for joining!
  22. I shouldn't be too difficult to pick up a decent L shaped desk. The local classifieds or the shops like BigDaddy mentioned would be definitly worth a peek. Since you're putting in a corner, space for pegboard would be pretty the entire wall in front of you  The only bit of advice i could offer would be to try and situate it so you can see out a window without having to pull an exorcist trick, and lots of natural light. Being crammed in a dark corner in the basement somewhere staring at walls will do nothing for the motivation and lots for the frustration. Cheers and good luck!
