One down. Double Buford, 6/0 in the back 50mm shank up front
-
Ive been using Jacquard acid dye. I more or less follow their directions on the jar. Ive rarely dyed anything until this year. I shot a deer with crazy good belly hair. Since I was already dyeing squares of that I got a bunch of white buck tails to dye also.

Got one little guy at the beginning of October. The only boats allowed on the local lake are ones you rent. They put them away real early this year so my season was a little shorter than I would of liked. They start again in March so I got about a month to go. Been on a real dyeing kick this winter so expect some odd colored buck tail on my flies.

Im in once again.

Address please. I went a bass direction with my flies. Did a dragonfly gurgler with a blue mop and a hellgrammite with a black mop. Leaving for Cancun tomorrow night so they won't be in the mail until next week.

Got mine. Should get some water time with them in a few weeks. I'm actually building a new rod right now. Killed my old one in the fall. Figure-8ed right into an oar and it snapped next cast. I actually threw some of them from last year's swap at trout on the White and might again depending on flows.

Got mine. Should be able to catch a few good browns on these and a couple look just about perfect for smallmouth. Either way there's gonna be sore lipped fish in the Ozarks. -
Never mind. Just noticed you already sent it. They'll be in the mail Monday

It's an actual wiggle tail. Size XXL if I remember correctly. You'll have to tell me how the rattle holds up on that fly. I've never attached one like that. -

Cool with me. I was trying to decide between two flies anyway. Now I can just tie both.

They're all tied. I just need to trim my heads. -
It's more or less a Brad Bohen fly called the Buford.

Here's my fly. -Mike

Recommendations for 1/0 streamer tails?

Metz magnum or Whiting American Rooster. I like the Metz better but the Whiting is more readily available -
Thanks guys. Vicente's right on about locking the hair in after packing. No point packing it tight if it's going to unpack itself right after. Another big density helper is using BIG bundles of deer hair. People talk about it in terms of pencil sized bundles but I think I'd have to measure mine in sharpies. -Mike

Mailed mine a couple of days ago. I took full advantage of them not having to match. All six are completely different from each other. -Mike
-
I'm done too. Address please.

I'm in. I'd rather tie one per swapper but will do the dozen if everyone wants to. -Mike

Thanks guys. That set turned out great. I've done them in quite a few swaps and this is the only time I didn't have to redo any. I usually get a little too aggressive with the razor blade and destroy one or two. -Mike
