  1. I worked in a fishing store for a couple of years. It really made me realize how much I didn't know. I learned a lot. Guys would come in and ask about bonefishing in Cuba, or what leader to use for barracuda, or something obscure like that. Looking back it seems kind of fun, but i guess I was pretty bored too for alot of the time. I hope it goes well for you!

Look up the improved albright knot or double nail knot (I think that's what it's called. It's just another nail knot an inch further up the line from the first. I find the double nail knot a pain, but I know guys who use it.
  3. Hey, does anyone know what colour the larva of the Mother's day caddis is? I think the right pattern might work pretty well up here in the next couple weeks.
  4. Hello. Smallie Hunter suggested i introduce myself so here goes. My name is Adam, and i live in Calgary. I grew up in Southeastern BC fishing the Elk, and am now exploring the Bow. It seems i was a little spoiled on the elk, and it is definitely time to bush up on my skills. I really like the tying section of this site. It seems to be what i browse through most. Seems like there are alot of helpful people posting here. Anyway, i hope that qualifies as an introduction. Maybe i'll post more later if i can think of anything more to say. 'later then! Adam
  5. seems i've heard somewhere of grinding up the little packets of silica gel from shoeboxes to make a dessicant powder. Can't say as i've tried it yet, but i've got a few of the things collected, so we'll see. Has anyone tried it?
  6. I just saw a skin for $37 CAN at a local shop. Isn't this a little much considering that these things are widely hunted? What, did they import it from Hungaria? I was just wondering if this is just the one store, or if it is this costly everywhere.
