  3. Wait until I figure out the X-Rap fly....
  4. Got a bunch of white barred too. Shad pattern?
  5. Yes. Half the skin. Still haven't used it all.
  6. Hey...there's some of MY flies in there!!! Thief! :ripped:

  9. Looks like a fallfish. http://www.cnr.vt.edu/efish/families/fallfish.html
  10. With those two hooks, we should be able to catch TWICE as much shale this fall.
  11. It works very well for bass...especially in an olive and purple scheme and a black and chatreuse scheme.
  12. Three reasons... 1) Extra weight. If you need less weight, you can cut the extra eyes off. 2) Rattle. The extra eyes at the end rattle a little. Not much, but a little 3) It looks cool
  13. A new addition to the fly pattern database has been submitted by Cyprinid Carpio: Steelhead Circus Peanut
  14. Size 10 olive bunny dubbing body, bunny fur tail, olive grizzly soft hen hackle, and a copper bead :headbang:
  15. I think I may try adding some mallard flank fibers trailing off the top of the thorax, like on Fox's pupa
  16. A new addition to the fly pattern database has been submitted by Cyprinid Carpio: Glass Caddis Pupa
  17. Try a size 10 or 12 white or chartreuse bead head woolly bugger. I've done well with all sorts of panfish with ones tied with a body of Ice Dub instead of chenille. Very flashy and attractive.
  18. Try Mustad 3366 All Purpose hooks for the Clousers. They are good hooks and decent price to boot. If you want to get fancy, try the Mustad CK52S kink shank popper hook. The wire is strong, the gap holds fish well, and the kink in the shank gives you a good reference point to tie your lead eyes in. I have found (and it could be just my imagination or the beer) that tying the eyes up onto the kink (not at the point of the kink, but on the front slope of the kink) creates a lower center of gravity on the fly and keep it hook point up better and more stable. If you look at some of my streamer patterns on here, I've tied them on the popper hooks. As far the bugger hooks, I like using at least a 3x or 4x long hook, something along the lines of a Mustad R74. It keeps the body proportions right.
  19. Hmmm...I'm not sure. I think you need to send me a couple of each so I can examine them further. I'll get back with you at the end of the season
  20. I think the long shank hook threw me off, to be honest. The length also makes it difficult to find a long enough starling feather. I might try a hen neck feather next. This particular fly will likely go into the blue gill box
  21. I tied a little short on the hook...the heads way too long. I probably need to make the thorax a bit longer. Nice and trouty though!
