  1. Some great looking flies! Everyone did a great job tying these up. Alot of tough decesions to make. :dunno: Will thanks for all the hard work putting this togther you did an awesome job with the pictures! :yahoo:
  2. Nice looking fly, looks like a fish catcher.
  3. I don't know anything about crease flies, :dunno: but the one in your avatar looks pretty darn good to me!
  4. Man those flies are awesome! :headbang: I bet the fish will be fighting with each other to be the first to eat it! Great job!
  5. Soft-hackle, you sure tie some sweet looking flies :headbang: . Keep them coming I really like the looks of all your flies.
  6. TT Nice to see some intrest from your daughter. Tell that fly looks great. :headbang: Where did you get your thread spool holder on the desk at? That's what I need, something to hold more thread so I'm not digging around so much looking for the right color. Thanks Oh yeh tell her nice casting form too! :hyst:
  7. Nice looking fly, that one ought to catch a few! :headbang:
  8. karrick very nice flies you've tied! If you've out grown your tying table (TV tray), I have a small computer desk I got from my daughter inlaw that she used when she was in college. Works pretty good and doesn't take up alot of room. I put sides on the key board tray and made a drawer out of it for more storage (but that's still not near enough room for all my stuff :shocking: ) Like flytime said welcome to the addiction! :hyst:
  9. That looks like it will catch some fish. :yahoo: Pretty good for your first. One thing I do on mine is to bring the head out closer to the eye. It looks like you could have added one more bunch of hair up by the hook eye. However it might dive better the way you have it tied.
  10. I'm no expert :shocking: but try these. 1) Try stacking instead of spinning your deer hair. Tie a clump on top of the hook,(don't let it spin) then tie a clump on the bottom of the hook using the same tie in spot. 2)Use a new double edge razor blade (carefully, they're sharp) along with your scissors. 3)See #1 4)Try useing 6/0 thread (140 denier) I use it and it works for me, plus doesn't bulk everything up as bad. I hope this helps you out, and if all else fails just :wallbash: or :drunk:. Sometimes I do both.
  11. Here's a few i use, beside this one. This is a partial list. I'll let someone else jump in with more. http://www.danica.com/flytier http://www.flyanglersonline.com http://www.flytyingworld.com http://www.ultimateflytying.com
  12. Nice looking fly!! I'm going to have to try that one!
  13. J.Stockard has Chinese Necks listed in there catalog that are kingfisher blue and another one silver doctor blue. I don't know what you are using them for but Netcraft (www.jannsnetcraft.com) has wetfly/streamer necks listed in blue also. None of my catalogs have a royal blue listed. Maybe you could get a white neck and try dying it yourself if you can't find the right color.
  14. conner, I tie and fish a modified clouser crawdad. Like mrcaddis said a little time consuming but I like it. Here's the pattern and recipe I use. It is in photobucket, I hope this works right. There are 2 pages to the recipe check them both out. http://s129.photobucket.com/albums/p230/flytyer56/ Also here is a link for a step by step on the Skips Dad. If you can there's a streaming video for windows on here to. http://www.flyfishohio.com/Skip's_Dad.htm Hope this helps.
  15. Those are some sweeeeeeeet looking flies! Yeh you're right about the mess. Every time I do deer hair I've got to get out the vacum cleaner when i'm done to keep the wife happy, and save my butt. :hyst:
  16. billy: nice looking flies you added today. Could you add a materials list for each. I like the looks of the green on the wooly worm. Do you have a side veiw of the wooly?
  17. mtn I also tie a crawdad pattern (my avatar) using furry foam. However I don't split it, just cut a strip wide enough and tie it in.
  18. bentflyrod, those are really neat looking. Good idea.
  19. BambooGuide: At the very top of the page is a link for the Rod Building Forum maybe someone on there could answer your question . Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
  20. breambuster, here's a crawdad that I use. I started putting bead chain on the top of the hook shank, but you could also use small hour glass lead eyes. www.photobucket.com/albums/p230/flytyer56/
  21. Yes I have to agree Stockard has the fastest service. Every time I order from them the order is either shipped the same day I order or the veery next day. A great place to buy from. Oh yeh and there prices are right to!
  22. bass I have to agree with Dave. That looks pretty darn good to me. Good Job! Let the feeshes be the judge.

  24. Don I picked up my blades at Jann's Netcraft in Maumee, Ohio www.jannsnetcraft.com Check out J Stockards the sponser on here they may have them also. I'll try that swivel between the leader and tippet. Thanks
