  11. Good luck with it. Flyfishing compared to marriage--?? It ain't against the law to go buy a new fly rod when you get tired of the one you have. No complaints when you just take it out once in a while, use it, then put it back in the rack. Primitive eating-- It's absolutely great to know how to do it and to practice once in a while so you know you CAN but "survival" eating really sucks when you are not used to it. No, I don't mean the Bear Gryls BS of taking a bite of a live snake or eating a rotten carcass and all that stupid crap. I've seen quite a few folks go on a "survival" trip and get sick as hell. Fish should be no problem, just cook them well. Lots of freshwater fish can carry tapeworm cysts, etc. Freshwater sashimi ain't on the menu. An average person can survive 30 days or more without food. Clean fresh water is always the priority. So ya bear Gryls is crazy! or on crack. i did set up traps in my camp ground caught a big squirrl that made my wife not talk to me for a bit and the deer trampled the others i set... seeing those shows on tv makes me laugh now. i could have caught 2 deer in a day screw rats and squirrlls! as for the fishing.. beautiful browns and bows biggest i caught was maybe 10 in no raw trout for me just tuna :headbang:
  12. Ya henry we were near the cougars and bobcats you could hear em howl every once in a while. they were top on my list of things to shoot lol! never saw one this time but i did wake a big buck standing 20 feet from me. almost had to change my shorts on that one. as for the pictures... my dumb ass forgot spare batteries
  13. ya this was fun scary and tiring all at the same time. my wife hates fish doesnt like to see hurt/dead animals either.
  14. today marks my one year anniversary with the fly rod this is seriously as exiting as being married for a year lol So in celibration of this event the wife and i are gunna hit up the river for a few days. because of fly fishing i have takin on other "primitive" living habits. i went out and took some amazing survival classes, they showed everything you would need to survive. sense then i went and picked up a few books on eatable plants, fire making and food procurement. so for the next few days i'm gunna test myself to see if my training and home work can pay off. No i will not be using traps or snares that is illegal, but i will make them and tear them down. ill stick to the fish i catch and the veggies i find wile my wife eats smores and hotdogs It is exiting to have confidence that if life throws a curve ball i can be prepared for this stuff. wish me luck yall see ya on wednesday!! DK
