  1. Now thats what I call a fly tying table ! Also if I may ask, what brand of vises do you use as I noticed you have two. I use a kit vise which does me well. Many thanks for sharing the pic. milo
  2. I will give it a try. Thanks
  3. Ok, so living in Iowa, the ice fishing will soon be here and as I enjoy tying; I am wondering if any other members tie patterns for ice fishing? What patterns and size? I am planning to tie a bloodworm pattern, my first for the ice. Looking for other suggestions. I noticed in the patterns there were some nice looking waxworms too. Think I might try my hand at some of those too.
  4. I do alittle fly tying as well. I agree it is a lot of fun, tying and catching fish on flies you tie yourself. Been thinking about buiding a rod, I find that intresting ,also. Ice fishing is just around the corner and think I might try tying some flies for that too. Welcome. Careful of the rod building. It is addicting. Very addicting. Its a lot of fun and very satisfying to catch a fish on your own rod as well. That's what I keep reading. Well there are far worse things to be addicted to.

  6. Not real big around here either. On the other hand, it seems to be very productive, which, I think is partially because not many people do fly fish.
  7. Never fished them. Have smallmouth fished up there. Know several guys that do and seem to have good succes
  8. Try this again. North central, about 25 miles north of Ames. Might be able to meet part way sometime.
  9. Just joined the forum. Been creeping, my daughters term for lurking, for quite some time. I have fly fished off and on for most of my 45 years. I enjoy many outdoor activities, fishing, hunting, trapping and just being outdoors. I find the forim very infomative and enjoy the many topics. Happy Thanksgiving to all.
