  1. thats almost laughable no one is getting rich off CCG... believe me cost is partially due to it being a 100% made in the USA product and no, it will not crack or flake when used properly I've used it for a very long time and never had a fly crack/chip/yellow yes it does cost a bit more than super glue or 2part epoxy... but it is a better product AND there is NO waste
  2. i have a 14' Koffler RMT I don't have any recent shots, but here are some from last summer (I've upgraded all the seats and added a tractor rowers seat) hooked up and you can see the mess it becomes at the end of the day you can see the left tray has a built in covered rod locker all the seats are moveable- to match weight and # of people one of the best mods you can have a bottle opener mounted to the rowers seat
  3. out of those 3 rods... the BVK... no question
  4. here is what i usually carry 8mm - great fisheye 35mm- nice close/mid distance prime 50mm- mid and detail shots 18-200mm - wide to zoom
  5. i have a few C&Fs... really nice on trout-sized thread... the threader is a must and works great... just make sure you have extras in case you loose 1 I also really like my MP for loops/brushes on streamers the Rite Half Hitch Mag is nice for large flies
  6. yes they made a choice... no one forced them and the fall out of their actions--- no show and an impact on their business and the local economy this is not a 2nd amendment issue its a private business using their freedom to set the rules as they see fit... choosing to set regulations on what kind of products they want at the show you want to sell at their show, you follow their rules you don't like it... that's the great thing about this country... you don't have to support them just don't go crying when you can't reap the benefits when you don't want to follow their rules its funny to see all the paranoia... and the hypocritical statements around this

  8. Then why boycott? why pull your attendance? For right or wrong its the organizers show, with the rules they want to set its a politically charged topic... but ultimately the organizers choice to make rules what if it was no boots, no back packs, no jackets, ect... would it have had the same response? you don't like it... boycott and protest to disrupt them... which happened, and backfired on everyone can't have it both ways - follow their rules and get business - protest/boycott and it gets canceled
  9. Hareline has some "extra select" craft fur that is really nice... any shop should be able to get it, of search the web

    UV Glue

i've been using clear cure goo for a few years and really like it cures hard, clear, no tackiness
  11. i'm aware what happened... its a show run by a private company, who sets the rules.... right or wrong but people didn't just say "yeah, that was dumb"... they either pulled out of exhibiting or threatened to boycott many exhibitors who had no connection to the "rule change" pulled out which is fine make a stand for what you believe in OR for whatever you want... be understand the implications... in this case- no show/loss of potential business/impact on local economy can't have a show with no exhibitors and no attendees
  12. The show was canceled due to customer boycotts and vendors/exhibitors pulling out...the company running the show had no choice They didn't "simply say" anything again, they vendors/exhibitors and consumers got exactly what they wanted/ asked for there are tons of shows and each have a unique set of rules and regulations you don't like a show--- don't attend the show was canceled when the vendors/exhibitors who committed canceled and consumer rallied a boycott yeah the SHOT show went off fine... because the vendors/exhibitors showed up
  13. Promoter makes the rules... its their show people didn't like it, so they backed out not enough vendors left Show's canceled No one's "fault"... you don't like the rules= don't attend....you set rules that make people not attend= no show but if there is any blame it is to the people who pulled out of the show (i think cabelas was one of the first) they "boycotted" and pulled out of the show... what did they think would happen?? yes the economic impact the the region sucks but thats the way of the world
  14. with complex flies that take a bunch of time/material.... its very easy to never tie the same thing twice
  15. Jam and Joe killing it nice flies guys!
  16. thanks 3 sections bunch of bucktail, hackle, marabou, and flash craft fur head with clear cure goo piker- being its currently 5*F... it may be awhile but at least I'll have an overflowing flybox
  17. matching the 12in stocker hatch...
  18. you guys understand that whatever small direct sales fly reel/fly fishing company you are talking about--- they are all the exact same thing... They mass order the reels from an Asian manufacturing company and slap their names on it There is a reason they are cheap... they are not made with the same tolerances and materials of high end fishing equipment they cost about $10-35... so yes you are still getting slammed on a markup... but with no return to support a local business that supports the sport these reels at best are being made/designed by people who have no idea what fly fishing is.... At worst - they are reverse engineering real fly reels and subbing in low grade materials OR illegally running these reels off as grey market products.
  19. is is not a great tool for inline rotary tying- like the nor vise or regal revolution however it is nice for indexing ability of the roatary is nice... there is nice tension adjustment there is no easy adjustment on the gooseneck- allen key only... unlike dynaking where it is a thumb screw so it is not easy to change hook style and keep the shank inline
  20. Here is a write-up I did on the jvise http://hatchesmagazine.com/blogs/Hatches/2011/10/12/the-j-vise/ The wooden base is nice ... Spots for tools, cup for beads, spot for cement ect The trim basket and bobbin rest are also very nice
  21. oh yeah... 3 red beads on each end of the tube
  22. looking good! only thing... i'd swap your stations in terms of amount of material... the fuller up front, sparser to the rear good color combo pink in the rear and purple up front the larger JC flared in the rear imitates squid/prawn eyes when fished on the swing, the JC up by the eye of the shank isn't really visible to a downstream fish
  23. Thanks We should find a spot between the 2 of us and do a musky float rear hook 5/0 hackle flash white craft fur in a loop flash white marabou 6in tube 3 stations of reverse bucktail front hook 5/0 bucktail hackle (grizzly and black on top) flash reverse bucktail hackle (short grizzly and black on top) marabou spun deer belly- trimmed and coated with Clear Cure Goo to make a hard disc
  24. there is a local river with a good muskie population...that also gets stocked rainbows from local sportsmans clubs I'm just matching the hatch
