  1. My best friend does web work as well.Spent his time in the Army doing it and designed my business webpage when I had one lol
  2. Between buying a house, school, and untold amount of family crisis', I havnt been able to tie in six months...Tonight I got my bench set back up and dug out my materials that were packed away. Felt good to sit back down at the vice. Decided to start working on some stuff for Spring break and summer trips in Florida. Whipped out this little deceiver in size 2.Over-all not a bad fly for a long break!I think it will fish!

Thanks bud!Caloosa and I hit Holiday park the weekend after Independence day.It was funny because I think we ended up running close to 70 miles of water before we found what we were looking for...around the corner from the boat launch lmao! How are you and your family doing?

Thanks Vic! Mike-My father recently moved down that way.Said the rains had been crazy as of late.Lives in Okeechobee county,I guess about an hour and a half south of you. Steve-Yea brother were still in GA!Thought that was going to change not long ago.Almost moved back up to TN (Inherited a chunk of land outside the Smokies).Playing with dish as in your fish tanks? If so you'll be excited to what I'm in the process of building!

    What's up y'all?!

Hey gents!Hope everything is going well with all of you, wherever you may be. How has everyone been doing?Hopefully making it through the holidays safely and with as little stress as possible. Fell off the map for a while on my end. After my Glades trip in July my wife and I bought our first house!2500 sq feet with 1.75 acres on a lake. Also got back into school which has been interesting.I can honestly say I've taken craps harder than college.Along with all that I have realised that there is always something to improve on with my home so the work seemingly never ends, but it's mine so I really don't mind. With winter setting in I have transitioned from one love to the next.Removing old fishing line, lubricating reels and hanging up rods and trading it for the deer stand and a Remington 700.Been a slow deer season this year.Im a helluva lot better fisherman than I am a hunter, but watching the woods come to life when the lights breaks is as sobering to the soul as watching it on the water. Probably won't be tying any for a bit.I tied enough this past spring that I may be set for another year!Did get the hook up from my taxidermist though. He gave me a Wal-Mart bag full of kudu from a big game hunt.Gotta tie a bunch up for him and his guides in Africa. If I have any left over I'll shoot em' out to some folks around here. Well hell...guess that a enough rambling for one evening!Have a good one!

    Staff

I had a nice case of staph back in 2012. Had a small piece of shrapnel removed from my upper right thigh.Wasnt anything serious and it took about 5 minutes to cut out.Couldnt tell you how many antibiotics I was on.Nothing seemed to help at first as i was still patrolling in 125 degree weather.Wasnt until infection set in that i was finally sent to an actual hospital in country.Honestly though...having a piece of metal in my leg didn't hurt nary as bad as the damn infection.
  10. Lmao!We need to keep this thread going!
  11. When I was a kid I would walk miles up there and the lower Pigeon River.Always love fishing in the fall.Hell of a place to grow up
  12. It'll do well in those areas! And it would kill gills! If I were fishing it for gills I'd use synthetic dubbing. Good luck with em!I don't think I've ever fished a trout stream(s) as beautiful as the Smokies.
  13. I based this fly design off of old school wet flies.I knew I needed a different kind of collar hackle that would stand out against and flow with the body nicely. I tested this with a lot of different dubbings, but seal fur just really seems to do the trick. Its super buggy and silky feeling, has a nice shine and the color of the claret is pretty nice too.If you lack seal fur,SLF is the same color will do. Named this after the river I tested it on;The Clinch River. If you tie some please let me know how it does for you!I've had great luck on this when nothing else has worked.
  14. I've got a whole box of em around somewhere.Ill see if I can find them amongst my many piles
  15. I second the caddis and Sally for up there.Anytime you fish an east TN trout river you must have those! I have a custom fly I use with great luck there. Size:14-16 Body:claret seal fur dubbing (or SLF) Rib:fine gold wire Hackle:Black and white guinae hen I call it a Clinch Witch. Best of luck in my homeland!

  17. They really are!If you buy eyes from any other place they will be double or quadruple the price and the quality is equal or even greater
  18. I'm a fan of Congo hair, but bopper dubbing and fisch eyes. All of them are great and already really well priced!
