  1. Is Fox Squirrel a code word for something else?
  2. Hate buying anything at Wal-Mart. I never put much stock in the website www.walmartwatch.com until they screwed over my terminally ill brother in law. He had cancer and was covered by their insurance and on their disability. He was one of the lucky ones to have insurance from them. The convinced him and his wife to file for Social Security disability. You all know how hard and how long it takes to get Social Security disability? They told him that he would get 50 to 100 more a month and that they had "connections" in government that would streamline his application. Boy did they. He got disability in three months!!!!!!!! Problem is you lose your insurance from Wally when disability starts. He died before the Medicaid waiting period passed. Thank goodness he was a veteran, they paid for his medication. I would buy from K-Mart, Target, Michaels, or anyone. Read the website www.walmartsucks.org or walmartwatch.com OK, sorry, I'll get down off my soap box now and crawl away.
  3. Sorry never listed a fly. Put me down for a Catskill or a Queen of the Waters.
  4. Fred I looked at my posts in this and the swap I'm in with you. In the crappie swap I left a post that I thought it was funny both you and Trout Traveler lived in Lake Charles. I should have suck my crappie flies in the box too. I thought you guys were really orginized withe the reinforced box and the mailing list, I guess the list in the box was too good to be true.
  5. Got delayed. Mailed box today. Thought that it was 11.83 to mail it to me priority mail so I put priority stickers on the box. The post office wanted 26.35 for that....so back home it went cause you just can't cross out the stickers. :ripped: I think the folks at the Charlotte Post Office drink a bit too much. Wednesday it cost 15 dollars to mail the box to Lake Charles. Today it only cost 12???? Do they have a discount on Thursday? Nice job on the box. Joeking. I added some turkey, possum, raccoon, grouse, starling, coyote to the box.
  6. This must be my Lake Charles weekend....I am in the swap box group and it just arrived yesterday. I have to send it out to Lake Charles next.
  7. It will be a chartreuse bead head. Uses two beads like a dragonfly larva. They are really good on Bream and crappie here. Small wet fly. I'll send a photo.
  8. I'm in for this. I live near lake Wylie. They have the national crappie tournament here. Great fishing.
  9. I started with a Thompson B (short version) and have never seen anyone else using a shorty. I switched to a vise that was given to me. (http://www.stsimonsoutfitters.com/Xuron-Vise-History_ep_40-1.html) It was an early version of the Xuron vise. I got two of them as gifts in about 1968 or 1970 I guess it was. They have "C" clamp bases not the pedestal. I got a Renzetti and have just went back to the Xuron for tying some streamers. Anyone else use one of these?
  10. Grunt....How did you ever go through the box and get it out so quick??????????? It arrived today in South Carolina. I will get it out Tuesday to person 16 (Trout Traveler). I looked in and need to pour the box on the floor and look through it. I have some cool stuff to add. I will confirm that it is in the mail.
  11. I am so ashamed to have tied a Clemson fly after last night's loss. Please take the Clemson fly, smash it flat with a hammer and mail it to Tommy Bowden with a note asking him to leave football and take up fishing.
  12. Mine can today. Thanks Dezod. Thanks for tying everyone.
  13. Dezod POst office says mine was in Denver PO and processed to go out. You should have it today or tomorrow.
  14. Dezod I gave everyone a bonus. I sent everyone two flies. One the Clemson trude, the second is a lime coachman. I tied one too many limes Dezod. Hope you all like them.
  15. Are you concerned about fish cutting the "hump" and having the fibers break and stick up? Try moose also, it is a little more durable. Blabk bear gives the look, but not as much flotation. Porcupine quill gives a hard shell with flotation. Good profile. little different look. Try it.
  16. Dropped mine in the mail today. Thank you for organizing this.
  17. Roadkill, roadkill....did I mention roadkill? I used to carry a pair of gloves, an x-acto knife and borax in the trunk. Best source. best price.
  18. Please send address. These Clemson trudes will lay over on their back for the trout and let the trout kick their butt for three hours. Although Sports Illustrated rates these flies really, really high, they are not guaranteed to perform. OK, I'm bitter after last night's loss. I still am not ready to tie Gamecock trudes though. I should have my flies in the mail by next week.
  19. I think if you give this till week's end it will fill up.
  20. Dezod You may try those OSU colors in a trude. The Clemson trude is basic trude with orange body, orange wing and golden pheasant tail. I was told by an old timer years ago that the best flies mimic whats naturally growing around the banks at that time of the season. I have found that bright green works better in spring (chartreuse), Blue or purple in winter, dark red and orange in fall and yellow and bright red in summer. I thought about your humpy and I wouldn't write that one off either. White wings red under body or white deer hair everything with a red under body.
  21. I love the fall trout season and we love our football here in SC. Put me down for a size 12 CLEMSON trude. Great fall attractor pattern.
  22. One word....UPS . Can you send it with the folks at Brown. You can send a whole lot for twenty bucks. When I fly somewhere, I have even shipped junk to a hotel.
  23. I have used a DIEFFENBECH Artery Forceps Straight 6 cm (artery clamp) for years. No broken hackles. You do not see these in the average store. DIEFFENBECH Artery Forceps Straight 6 cm
  24. I was in the original, can I get in also?
