  1. Went from a kit vise to a cheap rotary and now I have the Nor-Vise. Something to be said for using a true rotary vise that will spin like that for dubbing, threading, etc. Have used other nice vises but the Nor-Vise is by far the most helpful and innovative.
  2. Anybody else tie things that are visually accurate but useless to fish with? I call this the Marlboro deer hair hopper, it's pretty realistic but useless on the river.
  3. My cell phone is the only camera unfortunately. Think I'll use a darker background next time.
  4. Hook: Daiichi #1770 size 12 Thread: Olive uni-thread Eyes: Black plastic Tail: Olive Marabou Rib: Gold wire Abdomen: Olive Dubbing Wingcase: Olive swiss straw Legs: Olive grizzly hackle Step 1: Tie in short tail of marabou Step 2: Advance thread up to close to hook eye and tie in plastic eyes (Don't get too close to the eye, you will need some room!) Step 3: Tie in gold wire and begin dubbing up the body Step 4: Tie in the legs - Remember* this is upside down and the wingcase will be on the other side. Step 5: Flip the fly over using your rotary vise and tie in the swiss straw. If you don't have a rotary vise you will need to do some vise gymnastics or simply tie it in on the underside. Step 6: Wrap the gold wire and include some of the swiss straw leaving some loose to simulate the wing. Whip finish, a little head cement and you're done!
  5. I've been trying to post one but I can't figure out how to upload images off my hard drive. Damn technology. Help?
