Buy some rumpf saltwater bucktail. I have at least 2 in every color. Its not uncommon to get hair in the 6" length that is super soft.

Bob this is my first time in the last 6 years of fishing Florida to see adult Tarpon in the beginning of March up in the Pine Island Sound. I can almost always find the Juvenile resident fish but never the adults. They were in no way "thick" in there but to see the occaisional pod and free flying tarpon was cool. The Snook..best Ive seen since the winter kill. I saw more snook then redfish this trip which has been a rarity. My close friend fishing with me caught a 40" on regular spinning tackle. Hell of a nice fish. Kudu: Thanks! They are INCREDIBLY strong. Once he randomly showed up in the area we were throwing dead baitfish we had from the morning out to keep him interested. Most of the time I was throwing EP baitfish flies..and you just hold on. First time eating Cobia for me and I had NO idea what I was missing. That is some amazing fish. Especially when its hours after you took it out of the ocean. Im a big fan of Saison's. They have some VERY good ones. If you ever get the chance Brewery Vivant has a delicious one. Im going to try making one in the summer. They are a tricky brew because they must be fermented at high temperatures (above 80F I believe). They were beers that originated in France and were brewed in the hay loft of a barn. Probably more information then you needed lol. Cheers!

Hahhahaha AGN I was thinking the same thing. Is that andre the "not so giant" or is that Dave?? Sweet wet suit!! Nice chickens you have there. I dont think they will work for anything. I will take them off your hands. Everything Ive read..Borax! But truth be told I haven't got a clue. Saltpeter (potassium Nitrate) for skins? Never heard that before. Dave cant even buy sudaphed anymore so I dont think Potassium Nitrate is an option.

PJ: Caught a little bit of everything! Hooked a NICE tarpon and lost it when I got it 5ft from the kayak and it did one hell of an aerial leap. Got into Snook, Redfish, the Cobia, Jack Crevelle, some trout, and saw TONS of sheephead. Sounds like a great trip. Did the tarpon take one of those flies you posted that I suggested you keep in the box? Just kidding. Five feet from a kayak sounds like a catch and release to me. Haha. It was a close one. Hell it coulda jumped in. PJ: Caught a little bit of everything! Hooked a NICE tarpon and lost it when I got it 5ft from the kayak and it did one hell of an aerial leap. If you knew Brother Ben as well as I do, you'd have noticed that he said "THE" kayak, not "HIS" kayak. The "tarpon" in question was more likely a terrified hickory shad that had bumped into a manatee and leaped next to another fisherman's kayak a half-mile upriver. Skimmer, you've gotta read between the lines when you're dealing with a crafty rascal like Ben. OK, OK - if this sounds like sour grapes, I guess it is. It's 40 degrees out and it's blowing so hard it sounds like there's a freight train coming up my driveway. I'm about ready to bait up a #20 hook and see if I can catch a mud minnow in the creek out back. Congrats Ben - sounds like a great time. CLOSE but no cigar! It was a really big mullet! I swear it looked like a giant tarpon!! It was a great time. Sunshine does wonders. Bob I was up in the Gulf near ft. meyers. The Tarpon are just showing up. No large schools yet.

Chris those look awesome. Well done my friend. Always cool to see other people tie something you "designed"! Great colors too. Musky in my lake would be all over those.
-
Hopefully price isnt an issue lol. I paid $70 for a case! 10% ABV though

Thanks Dude. Its not my technique lol. Most likely the quality of the hair. Its all from a primo hair strip, Does the work by itself almost!

I know you are going to think im crazy but im actually a huge IPA guy..although I LOVE hopslam which of course is a double IPA as well. Maybe its the honey in it? Who knows. At the end of the summer I brewed an American Pale Ale which are pretty good. A little less of the bitter you get with a traditional IPA.

Thanks Dave. As you can see, I must of looked really hard. I swear when I did I couldnt find any lol. Or I drank too much that night.
-
Hahahahahaha! I am so introducing you to Drake when you visit hC38E0757.jpg Oh how special lol. People in my parts call him "Drizzy"..so get it right dude.

Haha thanks. Im gonna tie up a few more of the mullet fly. I have a feeling I might want a couple of those. If I need fast sinking, that wool headed one should work out pretty good. The purple? It was special stuff you inhaled that made it have that glow. Maybe the same stuff PJ took that one night he did that one thing while in Daytona. Remember that?? I think its the way the camera picks it up under the ottlite. Although its some bright ass stuff I picked up at Orifice (orvis) a couple years ago.

I must admit I didn't see the three week shipping notice⦠Wish I had, its been longer than that, I order some extra white and a couple of colors I was missing. I got my first bunch from a shop in Jersey. Are you having a had time finding some? Yeah, I cant remember the exact wording but I thought it had said 3 weeks before it shipped. I think thats just crazy. I really just want white to tie up some sanibel cannibals. Of course im sure I could mark it up with sharpies too!
-
If you can get it, Bell's Hopslam. About impossible to find because it sells out so fast. Luckily I scavenged a case when I could. If you cant that Id go with a good ale like Rogue Dead Guy!
-
Thanks! Gonna tie up a couple more, just in case If you got me a ruler the only thing I would use it for is to beat you with it.
