  1. Is anyone putting any time on the water? I hope you guys are catching some fish. Tom
  2. Cream Beauty! I would expect it to be a fish catching machine.
  3. Shane, Welcome to the forum. I can see how your pattern would be very effective. Great job of coming up with a solution to a problem! There are many creative tiers on this forum, who have exceptional skills and direct those skills to all species. You will find exceptional levels of support on this forum. If you look up the swap thread, you can see this year's musky swap. I was very pleased with the consistent excellence of this swap. I hope you will continue to post. My fishing has been very limited so far, but will post as things go along. Tom
  4. Steve, Just got back from a float trip today and the rod had arrived. It not only looks wonderful, but feels great. I am looking forward to trying it out next week Thanks, Tom
  5. For Muskies I use a loop knot with 27 lb knottable wire. I have a friend who says he was bit off with 17 lb. I have landed Muskies up to 44" on 80 lb flouro. But when trying for bigger fish, I always use wire. Tom
  6. In Canada on musky outings, all we eat are pike and they are delicious. Thanks for the comments, glad you caught a nice toothy critter. Muskyflyguy
  7. Beautiful flies Thanks for posting
  8. FFL Thanks for posting this SBS. You were very good and thorough. I want to try and use this pattern. Tom
  9. Kevin Excellent work! I always enjoy seeing your patterns. Tom
  10. Steve, Beautiful work! It sounds like it will be a joy to cast. Tom
  11. Great colors and shape on the Popovics
  12. Still using them on the four and five weight rods
  13. I really like Whistlers in white/white and chartreuse/white on 3/0 hooks. If he is going for smaller pike, keep it simple and easy.
  14. Kevin, I got this fly from you in a swap last year and have had wonderful results with it. Is this a standard pattern you tie? If so, would you be willing to share a materials list? I really would like to tie up some copies of it. It had a great walk the dog action. Was there anything you did to give it that action? Thanks, Tom
  15. Henrik Thank you for your thoughts and comments. Even though I did not participate in the swap, I learned a lot from you. I hope to be able to apply what I have learned from your comments. Tom
  16. Is anyone attending the Expo April 8-10 in St Paul? There is a seminar on fly fishing Muskies on Saturday at 3 pm. I will be working the booth for the Twin Cities Chapter of Muskies Inc. Stop by and say hello. Tom
  17. Mike, I did not make the desk. It was made by Bob Wagner from River Wood Designs in Minnesota. Here is the picture you requested. FlaFly, After I got it, I found I needed more space so I had Bob build this cabinet. Drawer one is for feathers, drawer two is for bucktail, and drawer three is for flashabou.
  18. I have not tied a fly since the musky swap. I need to tie something. The desk looks sad.
  19. Thanks I ended up using my cellphone It rotated several of the pictures 90 degrees (I do not know why) I'll try later
