  1. I've fished a lot of ponds in the area. Grew up in wheeling and work right there off deerfield and 21. A lot of ponds in the area have good fishing, bass crappie pike and carp if thats your thing. Wanna shot me a pm there's a lot of good bites in the area.

  4. I'm new around here but would love to start throwing my name in the hat. I'll do a weighted Seaducer.
  5. I had just recently watched the video of Lefty tying a deciever and for the hackle tail he would grab a bunch and twist them before cutting away from the group. This was a big time saver for me where as I was fastening them 2 on each side in pairs. It gave his fly a nice bulky tail that looked stellar. Sweet flies guy. I will probably be tying a few of both this weekend.

  10. I love stones and this look quite new for me, thanks for sharing. Is the wing case just a strip of feather from a turkey? Pardon my ignorance I'm new.
  11. Poppers and top waters are so much fun. I was teaching my son to fly fish this last year for bluegills and we used a brassie with a bacon tail... We had a good day! Haha. It is a species I admittedly should spend a bit more time targeting.

  13. I'm new around here so thought i would share a killer streamer i use here in wisconsin My take on a popular Bass Pro Shop steelhead fly hook- #6 streamer hook thread- pink eyes- lead hourglass tail- purple marabou with a few strands of flash body- alternating wraps of purple hackle and pink thread time consuming fly to make but well worth the effort
  14. Hello to all, My name is Blake and I fish the IL WI border area. I'm an all year fisherman who changes my target species often. As related to fly fishing and fly tying I chase steelhead, salmon, and brown trout in the Lake Michigan tributaries in both the spring and the fall. Late spring and early summer you will find me in the Wisconsin Driftless area chasing stream trout. Fly fishing and tying are only a few years old for me but I think i enjoy it most of all. While a lot of the flies i make I would still consider to be crude, they do catch plenty of fish. For me it is all about being a well rounded angler and fooling fish on my own creations. It looks like a great forum and can't wait to learn some new recipes.
