Well I headed for the river Friday. I opened my flybox and put on the first fly I ever tied. On the fourth cast, WHAM fish-on! After a few minutes I coaxed a 14 inch rainbow into my net. My heart was beating like mad. I MADE THAT FLY!!! After a few more casts, I decided to move down stream. I picked up my new collaspable staff and found out the top piece had come off, and was gone. Ok now I am a bit bummed, no I was mad. I went back to casting and hooked another one. I again got the fish to the net and when I netted it, I scraped the bottm a little. I pulled the net up and found another nice trout and THE TIP OF MY NEW WADE STAFF IN THE NET!!!! What are the chances of that happinging?
To sum it up I caught three nice rainbows and a lost item. My buddy said "catching a fish on a fly you tied is a rewarding experience" It sure was. Doubt I will ever part with that little rabbit haired streamer.
