  1. No one game for a critter fly? I can try a mouse, or mouse rat?
  2. Last I heard he was building model replicas of ships,? I took two classes from him back in the day which was very helpful in developing control of materials
  3. Looks great! I tie my tail shorter on that size hook, very nice job
  4. Will had a booth here in the past, and we had had a bunch of tiers from forum tying. Wish I knew also, great putting faces to names, glad you got out
  5. Drakes wounded minnow (Everett Drakes) Hook:B10S size 6 Tail: Capon Underbody: bead set forward, behind it is mono tied in securely Head: deer hair tied in bullet head style
  6. Reminds me of an old tier friend , Chuck Moxley, from Ohio. He tied one of these ( no powder coat). Great pattern
  7. I agree with your assessment, but you’re well on the way, we are constantly learning in how to make materials do exactly what we want and that’s part of the fun. Materials don’t dictate the end result. Great work, LETS SEE MORE. It’s a.whole different ball game tying these in your hand and wax can be your best friend in many situations.
  8. Been waiting for this! I can tell you’ve done your homework, tip, tag and butt are abit forward, which makes body a tad short BUT fly construction is nicely laid out It maybe type of hook, what is it, size? Great job Kev
  9. Nice! Heads can be a bug-a-boo sometimes
  10. I’m looking for smaller than 4/0,
  11. Great Tyer and his hooks were second to no one
  12. Hey Kev, finally got off my duff and sent a care package and it has some macaw added. should see it this weekend
  13. This actually is a nice job! There’s a lot going here. Each fly we tie is a challenge and I learn from each one. Your topping is sitting a little high and is too long. If you haven’t checked utube, Rich LaMonte has two videos on how to prep crests that’s worth viewing . The great tip is how to use your thumbnail to lightly pinch stem to actually adjust curve to fit the fly.
  14. So this fly WAS tied using a Mike Radenchich style, where he hides previous materials while advancing forward, which allows for the smaller head :)
  15. Here was my take on a Baron, seems a little stretched out but not too bad
