  1. Very nice series :headbang: I began using biots after seeing Rene Harrop tie with them
  2. I think he means 3/0 6/0 8/0 :dunno:
  3. All are good replies but breaking strengths very from one mfg. to another . I recommend looking up whitetail fly tieing and go to Chris"s catalog for threads. Pages 16 through what ever. It shows all the breaking strengths of all mfgs Bruce P.S. I might suggest using a underbase of thread followed by fishermans glue (even apply the glue to the thread while wrapping underbase)to secure bucktail to the jig
  4. I'll try and put up a clip on Hatches on how to work with the hair. I 'll show what Al suggested and 1 or 2 other ideas Bruce
  5. Thanks, really not that difficult, just go slow
  6. thanks guys, its been quite awhile since I've tied with deerhair and it was fun to get into it. Tim England put the "BUG" in me years ago and Lizzy's frog was a pattern he named after his daughter
  7. Paul , putting mine in the mail tues. 22nd Bruce
  8. Lloyd, thanks for your kind words. The video does show the front portion of leg being spun. The rear section is buck tail(3) colors, Where the butt ends are tied in(tips going out over front of hook)And tips pulled back "thunder creek" style. Maybe I'll do a clip on this. Thanks again Bruce Paul, no problem It was fun to tie it up. Not sure if it will fish tough, With my luck it will land upside down every time :hyst: Keeping the colors to stay lined up can be problematic as you will see on this frog. Its simply a matter of repetition. The mondo frog and Lizzy's frog were the first two I've tied in a long time(I'm allergic to deer hair) but seriously, Go figure :wallbash: Drugs do help
  9. Very nice, got to catch fish with those!
  10. I'm logged in and can move to any forum BUT the classic. When I click on it @ top right side of screen It goes to a blank screen and eventually says can't find classicflytyingforum.com. Maybe its the computer, what ever, I'll try later(been trying for several mins.) Even restarted computer and re-logged onto forum
  11. Yes, I agree with rockworm. In addition, This type of dubbing(thorax area) helps trap air bubbles making this a very effective pattern. Give it a try, I tied some after I saw Hans W. tie them, they work great :headbang: Bruce
