I'll be showing how to tie in wooduck flank for traditional upright wings, as well as how to apply dubbing and hackleing(for those who have issues, jump into virtual classroom at 8pmEST

dsaaverdra, great looking bass bug. Deerhair is fun to work with , I need to crank a couple out, its been a while since I've tied any, but then again, I've already got a life time supply :hyst: We could get a virtual class going if theres any interest

Its funny you should mention that because I was fishing steelhead the other day and opened my wolly bugger box and saw a wolly worm. I tied it on and BAM! 1st cast a nice buck whacked it :headbang: I use them alot here in Michigan for the bigger species and have great success

All the responses have merit and one of my favorite ways to start dubbing the abdomen, is the same as MTtyer suggest by appling wax on thread then use the touch technique this puts a very small amt. on the thread and once you have a base coat its much easier to add dubbing to dubbing and you can build it up to the desired shape and size

Fly is nicely tied. Work on getting some grizzly Hen for you wings and maybe position them just a tad forward. Hers a couple I just cranked out to show a different wing profile, hope its helpful
