  1. Follow up video of an earlier post about fish caught at Lake Glenn. Previously, showed one Bass caught that round. This video shows the fish caught that day!
  2. Tiny Crankbait Worked... Are there fish at Lake Glenn? Repost of earlier Livestream where yours' truly is checking if there are fish at the local lake. I am using Bait Finesse System fishing with a KastKing Zephyr without the reel clicker. I am casting a Teeny Crankbait from the Mystery Tackle Box! Caught several but this was the largest caught that round - estimating 16-17 inches.
  3. Pond Fishing Fun | Cabelas 2wt CGR and Foam Grasshoppers Planned to fish with Bait Finesse gear for Bass and Bluegill. But, the pond was too clobbered with "green stuff" that fouled lures. Switched to fly fishing - Cabelas 2wt Fiberglass Rod and the Caddis Foam Grasshopper. Was a fun time ultralight fly fishing!
  4. Here is the Foam Grasshopper Variant that uses 2mm closed cell foam cut with a foam cutter to make a caddis body. Calling it the Caddis Foam Grasshopper. Worked for Bluegill and Bass!
  5. Thanks! They are fun to catch. Went back out with the little 2wt CGR. Had fun... but lost my Caddis Foam Grasshopper. Tied only one. Did tie more for the next round.
  6. Fly Fishing a Pond | Nine Bluegill and Four Bass on a 4wt Fly Rod Plan was to fish the local pond using Bait Finesse Gear and ultralight lures. Switched to a Fly Fishing when my inline spinner kept fouling on the algae. Fun times fly fishing with nine Bluegill and four Bass caught and released!
  7. First Kayak Fishing Trip for 2022 | Jug Lining for Catfish on Lake Lavon Finally made it out to the local lake for kayak fishing. Opted for jug lines and Catfish fishing. Had to make a few modification to the jug lines per the Texas Fishing Regulations. Also, had to read the new rules for Catfish on Lavon. Different compared to past Season! Do check out the video!
  8. Yesterday, we struck out at Denison Dam but mentioned kayak fishing and juglining as a backup plan. Did well... with Catfish caught. Dinner Shrimp Etouffee over rice and Blackened Catfish! Tasty! Will get a trip video out later this week; do check back!
  9. Tried this morning... struck out at the dam. he
  10. When fishing for Bass in heavily pressured ponds, try downsizing. Fish ultralight lures like inline spinners, spoons, and crankbaits. Oftentimes the Bass get used to larger lures and tend to ignore them.
  11. Rooster Tail Works for Bass | Bait Finesse Style BFS fishing the local pond. Started with a popper but switched to a Rooster Tail and had fun catching Bass. Shimano Scorpion 17 BFS-XG reel still rocks with the Bass Pro Shops Microlite Fiberglass rod!
  12. Guadalupe River Tenkara Fishing | Got Sidetracked.. Oops! While on the road a couple weeks ago, stopped in New Braunfels, Texas and fished the Guadalupe River at the River Access Park. Opted for the Tenkara Rod as we were on the road and keeping things light. Worked out well, was able to get a quick trip in! Caught little guys... looked like longear but did get sidetracked when I noticed a lingerie photo shoot was happening downriver. Took a stroll downriver of course to scout the river for fish... wink, wink, wink!
  13. Sunday morning had fun Tenkara Fishing the local pond.
  14. While in New Orleans fished a local park... Louis Armstrong Park with the Tenkara Rod. Looked promising but had to call the trip short when the Park Ranger informed me there was no fishing in the Park. Bummer!
  15. Here is a video short of yours truly trying to catch a trout or two after figuring out the pattern. Trout were wanting no retrieve, minimal movement... or a long pull and then hold while the fly sank. Used a Pat's Near Deere, and then a Pat's Rubber Legs.
  16. Here is a simple but effective pattern to try... possibly for the first time fly tyer! Uses bead chain eyes and two plumes of marabou. Worked for Bass and Bluegill at the local pond!
  17. Getting a Bass to Strike. Try This! Left the Senkos at home while out and about. Fishing with BFS Gear - Shimano Scorpion 17, Bass Pro Shops Micro Lite Rod, and Rooster Tails. Saw bass cruising the shallows, had several strikes and lots of misses. Did run into a school of little Bass that just did not want to commit to striking the Rooster Tail. Luckily, water was clear and I could see them react to my lure... so, tried this to get them to strike. It worked, except I still need to work on my landing technique! Check out the video!
  18. TRWD Flyfest Big Trout Contest | Highlights Video It was a fun time last Saturday at the 7th Annual TRWD Flyfest. We have not missed one since the first TRWD Flyfest in 2016! A fly fishing event that offers fly fishing demos, fly tying classes, fly fishing seminars, and fly casting lessons. It also hosts a Big Trout Contest which is a Team favorite. This year we were able post a livestream while we watched contestants compete. Although we missed Heat 4 and the final Fish Off to decided the contest winner, we did enjoy the fast paced action that Heats 1 - 3 provided. We have posted unedited Livestreams on our Channel for reference. For those that would like a highlights version of the contest, do check out the video! Key items to note this round… fly fishing presentation and technique coupled with positioning where the fish are lurking made a difference in numbers of trout caught!
  19. Quick trip yesterday fishing a Pat's Near Deere!
  20. TRWD Flyfest is tomorrow. Plan to be there to check things out. A little chilly tonight. For now, pass the time with more video snippets of the trout fishing on the Blue River in Oklahoma. Bait Finesse Systems fishing gear making for some fun times catching trout on ultralight gear! Super Duper continued to work for trout!
  21. Quick beta test of the livestream broadcasting setup we have more mobile on the go streaming. As a topic, briefly discussed the Super Duper Lure!
  22. Mystery Tackle Box arrived! Livestream unboxing and Team updates! Fun time this past weekend in Oklahoma! Limited out at the Blue River, then checked out some local happening in OKC! Mystery Tackle Box had some cool lures for panfish and trout. Plus... TRWD Flyfest is this Saturday. Plan to be there to checkout the Big Trout Flyfishing Contest and more!
  23. What Worked For Us Trout Fishing the Blue River... Ultralight Bait Casting and More! Had Friday off last week. Made the run to the Blue River to try trout fishing using ultralight fishing gear. We left the fly fishing gear at home. Your truly and opted for a Bait Finesse System Combo that truly has me hooked. Our fishing buddy went with an Ultralight Spinning Combo. Tried various lures and in the end, it came down to Super Dupers and presentation, changing the retrieve as needed based on the trout striking or more importantly on what they were nor striking! Do check out the video an in keeping with out motto, "Learn to fish by our trials and errors"... let us know if the video was helpful!
  24. Quick Fishing Update | Oklahoma This Weekend Quick update on this past weekend's fishing fun. Made the run to the Blue River in Oklahoma where we fished with Bait Finesse Gear and Ultralight Spinning Gear. Two fished; two limits taken! But, was not just about fishing. Able to checkout the happenings at the OK State Fairgrounds - specifically, the Gun Show and the Backwoods and Outdoor Show. Shout out to the folks we saw this weekend! Great meeting Kevin at Scotty's One Stop, Scott at the Gun Show, and the Official Fish Boss at the Backwoods and Outdoor Show! Do check back; still editing the Blue River video. Will post later this week! Till then, Good Luck and Good Fishing!
