  1. Well, I guess I'll have to come up with an excuse why my wife's poodle looks like a naked mole rat! LOL
  2. With all the different animals mentioned, maybe we should put on a pet hair swap!
  3. Ok folks, I'm looking for a good Czech Nymphing DVD. I've poked around a bit, but I thought I'd get your input before I purchased one. Thoughts?
  4. I guess I need to see if I can catch that stray cat.....
  5. I like a good two for one deal! LOL
  6. COMike, Wow...you have a myriad of colors...should be fun experimenting!
  7. Hey cheech Well glory...I will have to subscribe to your channel. Thanks!
  8. Hey cheech, I just watched your "build a better bugger" video. I like it. I'd love to see more videos.....
  9. Hey flytire, I like that idea, I'm gonna try that. Good stuff! Thanks for the info...
  10. Hey Voge, How about a hares ear? The blonde/gold would do fine for that.
  11. FlaFly, I'm always on the prowl for new tying material. I'm guilty of going into fabric stores in search of something to tie on a hook. Some guys are sticklers but not me...if it works...use it! Creativity has birthed some great flies. Just be sure and share if you come across something!
  12. Hey FlaFly, I agree with you, just go ahead and try it and see what happens! You might find the perfect new material...
  13. My wife has a poodle and it's hair makes great dubbing. They have hair instead of fur. Dogs with fur have a lot of guard hairs that would make good tails I'd think. I take the poodle's hair and put it in a coffee grinder to chop it fine, then dub it on!
  14. Welcome! Great group to learn from here on the forum.
  15. Hey jaymack, looking good. I can see improvment as the photos progress. I usually tie a slew of the same fly until I get the feel for the dynamics of that particular fly. Keep up the good work! But I would put them all in my box and throw them...I'm sure they will catch fish.
  16. I'll second JSzymczyk's reply. Leave them natural. I always dip my marabou in water so it's easier to tie on. Once it's wet I smooth it out the way I want it, then tie it on.
  17. Colotyer, I've had other waders as well, but my Simms have lasted for years. I guess it's true, you get what you pay for.
  18. MW69, I see. Looks great though!
  19. Hey Fish for Life, You got it. It smells a bit strong, so I'd do it in a ventilated area.
  20. In my opinion, Skip Morris book "Fly Tying made Clear and Simple" is the best beginners book.
  21. There's one way to find out! Try it and see...who knows, you may be on to something. Let us know the results!
  22. I've always used Daves Flexament...
