  1. flytire, I don't understand what this means.... I am trying to wrap my head around the concept... lol. Could have been better with LMGTFY tags. All great tips and just like anything else in fly tying, "proper" bodkin cleaning and maintenance is individual preference.
  2. I disagree. I own a Thompson Model A, really cheap copy of a Thompson (given to me), Danvise and a Peak. I'd recommend a Regal. I love the quick hook changes and it feels incredibly solid. I just cannot afford one at the moment. I will not buy a knock-off (personal thing). I love my Peak and for the money, it does everything I need it to, but I will own a Regal eventually.
  3. BB, Keep the extra fly from me as a "treat" for Halloween!
  4. Thanks breambuster for the compliment! I appreciate it.

  6. Thank you Henrik! First time my flies have ever been first, good to know they made it there.
  7. That is a cool story. I love that whole corridor of 395, from Lone Pine, through the Owens Valley and Bishop to Gardnerville. As a kid, we used to fish the June Lake "loop", Hot creek, convict lake and others whose names escape me now. That is really the only part of Cali I miss...
  8. Beautiful pic. I always get a little leery up at elevation with clouds like that.
  9. These puppies are ready to go out tomorrow...
  10. While I am not a huge fan of coated cork, I must say this is stunning! My only bias is that I love the feel of cork in the hand, but I would own one of these!
  11. I am going to tie a Garcia's Mini-Hot
  12. Flies sent today. It was $9.45 USD (55.70 DKK) from Colorado to Denmark. Not bad if you ask me...
  13. Pulling a "Carpie".... That is funny on this thread...On others? Not - so - much... You still have my faith in you...
  14. My kid has one of these, I borrow it when I am tying upstairs. I like the color of the light it throws.
  15. Henrik, my flies are done, I tied 12 and transmogrified half of them (lol). Please PM address and email for paypal to cover postage (and how much?) Side note: While serving in the military, we had an instructor with a Hobbs stuffed animal. We would do horrible things to it as he left it in the classroom, unguarded. Most days would find Hobbs swinging from the gallows. We didn't do anything that would cause damage to Hobbs, just a good laugh.
  16. This would be cool to have both flies! I like it!
  17. When I travel I take just enough tools and materials to complete x number (likely 24) of 1-2 different flies, usually using some of the same materials for both. All I need is my C clamp vise, Scissors, whip finisher then materials for when I go. Usually under 2 pounds.
  18. With that info, I'd like to join with a before transmogrifier fly of Tak's Go 2 Prince...
  19. BB, I'm in! Thanks for stepping up.
  20. Henrik, I've not sent something overseas that wasn't handled by work or to an FPO box, How does it work and what are the approximate prices? Regards, -J-Kno
  21. Stunning. I love where ever that is.
