  1. I got one that gets crazy when feathers are out.
  2. I went to the fly fishing show in Jan in Edison NJ. A lot of guides and vendors were no shows. I felt the show was a third of what it normally it, They still charged the same amount to get in.
  3. I used a magnetic bowl like this https://www.amazon.com/ABN-Magnetic-Round-Metal-Bolts/dp/B015EFA2QC/ref=asc_df_B015EFA2QC/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=167143431342&hvpos=1o3&hvnetw=g&hvrand=16022259265237035045&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9003934&hvtargid=pla-307745267253&psc=1 https://www.harborfreight.com/4-inch-magnetic-parts-tray-90566.html
  4. Helps me...lol I always wondered how to do it on this site
  5. I bought a 9 wt reel off ebay for like $40. It fell apart after 1 season.
  6. Cyber Security Architect. I've been in many other IT positions of the years.
  7. I use a Umpqua Steamboat 1200 sling. So far it does the job for me. I could care less if my sling gets wet. Do all of you who don't want your slings to get wet not fish in the rain?
  8. I've tied about 200 flies using Saber hooks. No issues with them.
  9. So everyone on this board is ok to fishing without a license? Fishing a closed season\area? If I become a guide does that mean the rules don't apply to me?
  10. Tippet rings.....I use them all the time and have no problem casting them. You won't even know it there while casting.
  11. Guy on Facebook has been killing it with purple nymphs.
  12. I got the one you show for $8 . It works ok.
  13. I have spools 40 to 50 years old I inherited that are still good. As long as its out of sunlight its good. Check your bobbin for nicks or excessive wear.
  14. I ordered a gift set for $25 and got more material than I can use in one lifetime. Great value for people who are just starting to tie.
  15. All the hard rock and heavy metal of my youth I still listen to. I rock harder now then my teenage years. I laugh when my teenagers yell at me to turn it down.
  16. I started both as I got my FIL fly 30-year accumulation tying material collection of materials 29 years ago. 5 years ago I came to a realization the more flies I lose the more fish I catch.
  17. I decided not to go. Distance and parking make it not worthwhile for me. I can wait two more months for the fly-fishing show in Edison.
  18. I still have 2 Herter's catalogs. Found them in the Fly stuff I inherited.
  19. I shore fish for bass with an 8wt floater. I try to do topwater most of the time. Usually, if I go subsurface the fly's weight will get it down deep enough. I have a sink tip on a spare spool but have not seen the need to use it.
