Kebari fly and Tenkara leader swap
troutnabout replied to troutnabout's topic in Fly Swaps & Contests
Hi old hat Hope you will reconsider. I am going to move the due date to October 30th. You can do a very easy leader by using tippet ring for each step down in your tapered sections. Just use an improved cinch knot to attach the tippet to the ring. Easy peasy -
Kebari fly and Tenkara leader swap
troutnabout replied to troutnabout's topic in Fly Swaps & Contests
Hi Old Hat There are a number of configurations for Tenkara. I'm talking about a combination of a level line and leader or a braided line and leader . Some people incorporate Czech nymph leader formulas making sighter leaders for nymphing . If you'll sign up I can point you to some links and resources. -

Hey Dave So glad this was new to you. Usually when I give someone more than they asked for, an apology soon follows, lol. Hope it helps you with your nymphing too . -

Kebari fly and Tenkara leader swap
troutnabout replied to troutnabout's topic in Fly Swaps & Contests
Hi Bob It's a really fun way to fish. So simple and more focused and for me, meditative. If you're looking for good rods, TFO's soft hackle series is super. Enjoy! -

I'll tie #12 red quill since quill gordon is already taken. Where can I get Rhode Island Red quills?
-
Masterfully tied Jaydub. Impressive!

You got that right. I'm never gonna sell it. just didn't want to do anything to de value it. I can't wait to land my first fish on it. Unless my daughter has a son,it will go to my nephew who is my fishin buddy

great. pm me your number.

Wow, thats interesting, it's just part of the original manufacturing? That's even better cause I like the comfort grip design on the handle. looks like it will only need some ferrule replacement and some re-wrapping on thread.
-
Here's some initial photos of the rod.reel and creel. Better ones to follow.

Steeldrifter sounds like it's the $60- $80 range. Needs some re-wrapping and guide replacement. also, comfortgrip handle is dried out and has split rings showing. Thinking about having it restored so I can use it. I'll post a pic later today. Thanks for the info
