  1. I will be sure to try them out in the spring, they seem quite easy to tie. I know that Hellgrammites are huge for bass, and some say they are the ticket to walleye and trout but didn't have a clue how to tie one. Thank you for your help.
  2. Thank you for your help I will be sure to look into Algonquin, I had heard that they had trout but never knew that Brook trout are in there. Thanks again
  3. Nice fly, looks like a dead or dying adult fly (insect... haha) but I agree that the dubbing would produce a sharper, better looking fly, but very nice dry fly, heck of a lot better than my first fly, lost half my materials before I even put it on the water.
  4. I am looking for a bass fly, I have heard good things about hellgrammites but have yet to tie a hellgrammite fly, would it be worth it and f so could somebody give me the name of a hellgrammite fly. Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this but I figured any one in this section would have a better idea about these larva than me.
  5. I am relatively new to fly fishing and know very little in the terms of which flies to use and which flies not to use. I live near several lakes with bass (Smallmouth and Largemouth) and pike. My question is which flies will produce strikes and will catch me fish, if possible could somebody point me in the direction of a video to watch said fly being tied. I know frog and mouse flies work well but I don't know which individual patterns work well. Thank you for your assistance.
  6. I am new to the Barrie area and have little to no idea where, how or when to catch brook trout. Any suggestions would be of great help.
